Congratulations to Mold – North Wales Cricket League Division One champions for 2025.
The Flintshire side clinched a return to the Premier Division after a two-year absence with a five-wicket victory at Brymbo seconds on Saturday afternoon.
It was Mold’s 18th win in 19 matches, a title-clinching streak which followed defeats in their opening two fixtures of 2025.
A club spokesperson said: “The lads have deserved it this year. They’ve worked hard and stayed calm in a few tight situations.
“We have also benefited from a fantastic ground (thanks to Andy Evans) and are the only team in Division One not to lose a match to the rain.
“The lads were out with the super-sopper when needed and all those extra points have now paid off.
“We have to give credit to John Williams at Mold as the amount of effort that goes into the juniors each year is huge. It’s really starting to pay dividends now.”

Brymbo 2nd XI (2) 143-10 Mold (13) 144-5
Mold clinched their first league title in 20 years with a five-wicket triumph at Brymbo seconds.
The Flintshire club’s first team were last crowned champions in 2005, when they topped the Premier Division under the captaincy of Stephen Burkhill.
After winning the toss, Mold decided to put Brymbo seconds into bat, bowling out their opponents for 143, Adam Smith scoring 40 and Jake Hughes 37 for the Steelmen.
Munowar Samsodien took 4-34 and Lewis Pringle 2-21 for the visitors.
Mold reached the winning post on 144-5 off 29.5 overs, skipper Isaac Allen leading contributor with 36, Jack Bettis 2-26 for the hosts.
Connah’s Quay (15) 278-6 Mochdre 2nd XI (0) 164-10
Joshua Clarke led the charge with 98 in Connah’s Quay’s maximum points victory over visitors Mochdre seconds.
Quay called the coin correctly and batted, amassing 278-6 off 45 overs, Clarke knock coming off just 84 balls and including 10 fours and five sixes.
Openers Luke Bennett (50) and Tom Hooson (40) put on 108 and Thomas Opie scooped 2-37 for the away side.
Mochdre were bowled out for 164, Adam Jones 50 and James Gilman 31, Mali Auty 4-18 off nine and Rhys Jones 4-40 for the hosts.
Gresford (15) 299-10 Dolgellau (0) 176-10
Gareth Bell (51), Matthew Thompson (40), Daniel Williams (35) and Wes Evans (32) did most to help Gresford set a large total of 299 all out off 45 overs at Clappers Lane.
Dyfan Hughes took 3-18 and Lafras Van Vuuren 3-33 for Dolgellau, who were dismissed for 176 in reply, Van Vuuren 70, Sion Francis 35, while Tom Crewe picked up 3-44 and Simon Perry 2-27 for the winning hosts.
Hawarden Park (4) 123-10 Halkyn (11) 128-10
Halkyn leapfrogged Hawarden Park into second spot with this close-fought win at Moor Lane.
The result also meant that Mold were crowned champions of Division One.
Skipper Alex North topped the chart with 32 as the visitors, invited to bat, were all back in the hutch for 128, Ian Martin 4-27 and James Martin 4-32 for the hosts.
Park were big favourites for the win at this point, but slumped themselves to 123 all out, captain Campbell Marr 31, Ben Roberts 4-23 and Nabeel Khan 2-14.
Llandudno (14) 229-3 Bangor 2nd XI (1) 146-9
Three half-centuries helped Llandudno post a winning 229-3 – 79 not out from skipper Keegan Armstrong, Elliott Hughes’ 59 and 55 from the bat of Tom Bleasdale.
Bangor seconds could only manage 146-9 in their reply, Tom Thornton 3-9 off nine, Lucas Hughes 3-37 and Oliver Hughes 2-30.
Northop 2nd XI (4) 170-8 Pontblyddyn (11) 179-9
Pont came out on top by just nine runs at Flint Road.
Opting to bat, the visitors concocted 179-9 off 45, James Hughes 62 and opener Vishwa Manawaduge 51, Evan Collett 4-29 and Andrew Oates 2-28 for the hosts.
Northop seconds’ response ended on 170-8, opener James Roberts a fine 81 and Josh Griffiths 36, that pair putting on 97, Manawaduge 2-20 and Rhys Jones 2-26 for the travellers.
