Bethesda got off to a flyer in the North Wales Women’s Cricket League
Bethesda made a double winning start to their new venture into women’s cricket at the weekend.
Matchday three of the North Wales Women’s Cricket League brought victories for Pesda against Northop and Carmel.
Dolgellau also produced two wins, while there was one success apiece for Conwy and Northop.
Teams start with 200 runs. They then add the runs they score to the 200 with five taken off for every wicket they lose.
Each innings consists of 16 overs max.
The winning team gets 5 points and the losers 0.

Carmel & District Women’s and Girls’ XI (0) 71-8 (net score 231) Bethesda Women’s 1st XI (5) 172-2 (net score 362)
Put into bat, Carmel were limited to 71-8, captain Rachel Waltemeyer top-scoring with 6.
For Pesda, Megan Hughes took 2-5 and Natalie Owen 2-6.
In reply, Bethesda piled up 172-2, captain Hannah Jones 25, Luned Roberts 22, Emma Jones 15 and Cushla Luxton 10 to win by 131 runs.

Bethesda beat Northop by 50 runs to make it two wins out of two on their debut.
Put into bat, Pesda chalked up 331-5 (net 306). Runs: Hannah Jones 18, Elin Pritchard 17, Luned Roberts 16, Cushla Luxton 14, Megan Hughes 12.
Debbie McManus (3-18) and Lucy McManus (2-12) were Northop’s best bowlers.
The Flintshire side responded with 66-2, Lauren Jones and Debbie McManus both scoring 9.
Carmel enjoyed their first day of competition

Debbie McManus and Lucy McManus led the runs charge for Northop with 25 and 22 apiece.
Kaye Jones added 16 and there were 38 extras as the Flintshire side rattled up 137-0 for a net score of 337.
Carmel made 32-9 in response, Bella Williams 2-0, Lucy Bevan 2-3 and Debbie McManus 2-7. Northop won by 150 runs.
This was also Carmel’s first day of competition and it is great to see them involved. Their performances will improve for experience.

Conwy Celts (5) 133-0 (net 333) Llandudno Women and Girls (0) 112-4 (292)
Asked to bat, Conwy amassed 133 without loss from their 16 overs, Charlotte Miles leading the scoring with 21, captain Llinos Hill with 9.
Skipper Laura Lambe made an impressive 17 in Llandudno’s effort of 112-4, Conwy winning by 41 runs.
Dolgellau Ladies (5) 107-7 (net 272) Conwy Celts (0) 80-4 (net 260)
Captain Bernie Conneely’s brilliant 38 ensured Dolgellau defeated Conwy by 12 runs.
Lowri Parry added 14 and Ffion Gittins 12 for the home side, Sioned Hill with a superb 3-8 for the opposition, Llinos Hill 2-3.
Conwy hit back with 80-4, Charlotte Miles 12.

Bernie Conneely completed a fabulous day with 20 runs as Dolgellau also saw off the challenge of Llandudno.
Tudno were invited to bat and managed 82 for 10, Laura Lambe again a stand-out with 16, Lowri Parry grabbing 3-12, Gittins 2-6 and Conneely 2-9 for the hosts.
Dol roared back with 123-1, Conneely’s top knock well supported by Lowri Parry (13), Awel Kelly (12) and Gittins (10).
