North Wales women’s all-time club XIs – No 3 CPDM Bangor

Bangor’s invincible league champions of 2022-23

Here’s the latest feature in a new women’s football series where we choose North Wales clubs’ best all-time XI – in our opinion at least!

Today we focus on CPDM Bangor, invincible North Wales Women’s League champions in 2022-23 and Adran North competitors for the past three seasons.

Selection of players is restricted to when the CPDM Bangor side was formed in 2021-22, as I did not see enough of the former Bangor City teams in action.

CPDM BANGOR ALL-TIME STAR XI

Becca Elliott

Wonderful goalkeeper whose talents carried her all the way to the Adran Premier with The New Saints.
Made more than 50 appearances for Bangor between 2021-22 and 2023-24, and was a star of the invincible NWWFL champions of 2022-23 who conceded a mere eight goals in 22 games.
Started out with Mostyn Girls before featuring in the renowned Prestatyn Girls team which won the 2014-15 Under-16 Welsh Cup and subsequent quadruple.
Having made appearances for both Wales’ U17 and U19 sides, she went on to represent Flint Town United, Prestatyn and Caernarfon Town before playing for Llandudno in the Welsh Premier Women’s League.
She then signed for newly-formed CPDM Bangor at the start of 2021-22. After departing TNS, Elliott returned to the Citizens last season.

Erin Basinger

Brilliant young right back or winger, aged just 18, who has emerged through the ranks at Bangor all the way to the senior team.
Has made 54 appearances for the firsts and remains one of the fastest developing talents at the club. Spent most of last season at right back, but the player herself is believed to favour the right-wing berth!

Erin Burns

Rock-solid 19-year-old defender who made her debut for CPDM Bangor in August 2023 and has now topped 50 appearances for the Adran North team.
Played for Ynys Môn at the 2025 Island Games in Orkney and made the scoresheet against Western Isles.

Ffion Bee

Has captained CPDM Bangor for the past two seasons and her hard-work, defensive skills and motivational prowess have made her a major presence in the side.
Has been a Bangor player from the very start, and clocked up exactly 100 appearances for the team – congratulations!
Previously with Caernarfon Town, Bethel, Llanberis and Bangor University

Awel Ellis

Strong defender who now plays for CPDM Pwllheli, but was a Bangor player for three seasons.
Scored a hat-trick in just her second appearance for the Citizens in a 12-0 victory over Llanystumdwy.
Made 42 appearances in all for the first team, notching 22 goals, which reflects her ability to move out from the defence into a more attacking role.

Mia Roberts

Industrious and skilful midfielder who has been a CPDM Bangor player every season since 2021-22, apart from a brief stint at Amlwch Town in 2023-24.
She has made 87 first team appearances for Bangor, notching 22 goals, including hat-tricks against Flint Town United and NFA.
Represented Ynys Môn in the 2023 and 2025 Island Games and was part of a fantastic Penrhyn Bay Under-16 side in her teens.

Jordan Roberts

Attacking midfield ace who began her career playing for Bangor-area side City Pumas.
She later represented Tranmere Rovers and a variety of Caernarfon Town teams before joining a tremendous Bethel Under-16 side which won the North Wales Coast Cup in 2017-18.
Jordan later played in a very young Caernarfon Town team in North Wales Women’s League Division Two before joining newly-formed CPDM Bangor in 2021-22.
She scored on her debut in a 6-2 victory at NFA and netted 15 goals in 20 games for a Bangor outfit which finished second in the North Wales Women’s League.
Later moved on to CPDM Y Felinheli and Llangefni Town.

Danielle Barnfield

Midfield general who joined CPDM Bangor in 2021-22 and over two seasons netted 19 goals in 30 games, leading the team which won the North Wales League as invincibles in 2022-23.
In 2013-14, she captained Caernarfon Under-16s to a magnificent quadruple, the highlight winning the FAW Under-16 Girls Welsh Cup Final in Newtown.
As a senior, has also played for Felinheli and Mountain Rangers.

Jenna Allsup

Blasted to prominence during 2022-23, when she joined Bangor and scored 11 goals in 20 matches as the invincible Citizens landed the North Wales League title.
Prior to this campaign, she had mainly played as a defender/midfielder for the likes of Caernarfon Town and Felinheli.
Has continued to be a consistent markswoman with Felin, Her 2022-23 heroics with Bangor will never be forgotten.

Menna Evans

One of the most exciting players around and a major asset to CPDM Bangor, having been named Adran North Young Player of the Season in 2023-24.
Had a phenomenal goal scoring record with CPDM Bangor Under-17s and U19s before making her first team debut in March 2022.
Since then, this dynamic young striker has scored 26 goals in 59 matches for the Adran North side.
Great on the ball, pacy and possesses sublime shooting ability which has resulted in some spectacular goals.
Scored in the wins against Hitra and Jersey for Ynys Môn at the last Island Games in 2025.

Stevie Donougher

Will forever be remembered at Bangor for her remarkable 2022-23 debut season, when she netted 27 goals in just 17 games for the NWWFL champions.
Her first five outings in a Bangor shirt saw the Australian ace amass no less than 15 goals.
Went on to score 16 goals in 10 games for Llandudno in the 2023-24 side crowned Adran North champions. Sadly, suffered a serious knee injury near the end of that season and has not played since.
