McDaid hits four as Menai Bridge Tigers pile on the goals again

NORTH WALES COAST WEST PREMIER DIVISION REPORT – OCTOBER 23
Menai Bridge Tigers 6 (McGinness 30, Clayton 43, McDaid 56, 80, 83, 85)
Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs 1 (Owen 87)
Jamie McDaid scored four second half goals – including three in five minutes – as Menai Bridge made it eight straight wins in the Premier Division.
Heading the standings with a seven points lead and with 56 goals amassed in eight outings – average seven per game – Blaenau Amateurs were the latest to suffer at the hands of the ruthless Tigers.
Friday night’s clash was the only fixture to go ahead over the weekend in the North Wales Coast West League, the rest of the schedule being wiped out by the stormy weather.
Blaenau were up against it from the eighth minute when goalkeeper Rhys Williams received a straight red card.
The Quarrymen kept it at 0-0 until the half-hour when veteran Mel McGinness found the net from a James Mcminimee assist.
Lewis Clayton made it two just before the interval, McDaid this time the chance supplier.
The second half was the McDaod show.
The 200+ career goal striker made it two on 56, then bagged three more in quick succession between the 80th and 85th minutes, Callum Graves assisting with the latter two.
McDaid now has 22 goals for the season and this was his third hat-trick, having already netted a five and a six.
Blaenau did pull one back through Mabon Owen on 87.
