The 2023-24 NWCFA Junior Challenge Cup Final, scheduled for May 11, has been postponed.
Llanfairpwll are into the final, but the saga of who they will face – CPD Y Glannau or Bow FC – remains unresolved.
The North Wales Coast FA released the following statement tonight:
“It is with regret that the North Wales Coast Football Association (NWCFA) announces the postponement of the NWCFA Mabon Scaffolding Junior Challenge Cup Final.
“The match, which was due to be played on Saturday 11th May, is the subject of an ongoing disciplinary process that will not be resolved prior to the final date.
“The NWCFA will not make further comment until the matter has been resolved.”
Back in February, Y Glannau beat Bow 8-1 in the semi-finals. However, Bow put in a protest that Y Glannau had fielded an ineligible player.
The NWCFA agreed and disqualified Y Glannau from the competition, but the St Asaph club won an appeal to a special committee of the association and were reinstated.
Bow then took the matter to the Football Association of Wales, who ruled in their favour. However, Y Glannau have now submitted an appeal. Further news is awaited.
The NWCFA Women’s Challenge Cup Final, scheduled for April 28, between CPDM Y Felinheli and CPD Llanystumdwy was also postponed and a new date is yet to be confirmed.
