Callum Parry was a hat-trick hero for Rhyl 1879

Callum Parry’s hat-trick secured a revenge victory over Llangefni for Rhyl, who are assured of at least third place.

Having crashed 4-1 at home to Cefni in February, and then losing badly 3-0 at Conwy Borough on Saturday, Gareth Thomas’ side were determined to end their league campaign with a win and did just that.

Parry’s treble strengthened his hold on top spot in the league’s marksman list, Wednesday’s effort lifting him to 24 goals – 13 for Llanrwst United and 11 in Rhyl colours.

Things could not have started worse for the Lilywhites, James Mcminimee giving Llangefni a first-minute lead.

Parry levelled on 18 from a James Cairns assist and it stood one-apiece at half time.

Rhyl upped their game after the break, Parry benefiting from the good work of James Jones to make it 2-1.

And Alex Jones set up Parry for number three on 89 minutes.

Rhyl’s final league record 2023-24: Won 19 Drawn 3 Lost 8.

While second-place and a promotion play-off game against the runners-up in Ardal North East is still possible, it appears the Belle Vue men will have to settle for third.
