Early-season cup stars Llysfaen have landed a plum tie at Conwy Borough in the second round ot the FAW Amateur Trophy.
A relaitvely short-distance journey to take on one of Tier 4’s strongest sides is a great prospect for the in-form underdogs from North Wales Coast East Division One.
Llysfaen have already won two ties in both the Welsh Cup and Amateur Trophy.
In reaching the Welsh Cup round one proper for the first time, Faen have defeated Towyn and Bethesda Rovers, while in the Trophy they have seen off T4 Llansantffraid Village and Cefni of North Wales Coast West Division One.
With six wins in seven matches already this term, Conwy will be a big test for the Bananabeu heroes.
One of the most attractive ties in Thursday’s Trophy draw was the all-Tier 3 Ardal North East pairing of FC Queens Park and Cefn Albion.
The Park have already won 5-1 at Albion in the league this season, one of eight victories in nine starts for the Wrexham side, but Cefn have won their last four and are starting to find some handy form.
Another belter is Penycae of Ardal North East against Ardal North West high-flyers Trearddur Bay.
In all competitions, Penycae have won nine out of 10 matches to date, but Trearddur are undefeated in nine games and looking to be at their strongest yet.
Tier 4 giant-killers Menai Bridge Tigers, conquerors of T3 Llay Welfare in the last round and boasting 11 wins out of 11 in 2026-27, have a tough task in store at Ardal North East team Knighton Town.
Ties will be played on the weekend of October 2-3.
