FAW CYMRU RESERVES NORTH CUP

Nantlle Vale 3 Denbigh Town 2

Nantlle Vale Reserves moved into the FAW Reserve League North Cup semi-finals with a narrow win at the expense of Denbigh Town Reserves.

Played at Treborth, Bangor, due to Vale’s first team playing at their traditional home, a feisty affair saw its first goal 35 minutes in.

It came the way of Nantlle, youngster Cian Dafydd on hand to put the ball home.

As the 45 ticked over there was plenty of action to be had in stoppage time. Rhys Lloyd slid the ball into Owen Herbert on the right of the box and he lashed the ball home to level the score.

However, parity lasted just a minute as Dafydd popped up for his second in a sucker punch before the break.

Half-Time: Nantlle Vale Reserves 2-1 Denbigh Town Reserves

Within nine minutes of the restart, the hosts doubled their advantage. A ball into the Town box was scrambled into the back of the net by Matthew Davies.

Town made a couple of changes and within a minute of coming on Andy Thomas reduced the deficit with a fine finish.

Denbigh kept pushing for the all-important equaliser to send the game to penalties but Nantlle Vale stood firm to advance to the last-four.

FAW CYMRU RESERVES NORTH TIER 1-2

Mold Alexandra 1 Ruthin Town 0

Jacob Melo-Farina scored the only goal on 14 minutes as Mold edged past Ruthin at Alyn Park.

FAW CYMRU RESERVES NORTH TIER 3

Hawarden Rangers 3 Saltney Town 2

Stephen Wilson delivered a dramatic winner for Hawarden seven minutes into stoppage time after the 90.

Earlier, Rowan Burdsall and George Davies had given Saltney a 2-0 lead before the visitors had Harrison Robson red-carded on 41 minutes.

Two goals in two minutes after the break, after 67 and 69 respectively from Matthew Birks and Rhys Parry, made it two-apiece, then came Wilson’s late, late clincher.

Rhos Aelwyd 2 Conwy Borough 0

Rian Molyneux and Jake Jones netted in quick succession in the first half to seal Rhos the points at Ponciau Park.
