Two more wins from their remaining three games will guarantee Llandudno Amateurs the Premier Division title.
The Amateurs have to face CPD Cerrigydrudion away and Mochdre Sports at home before they travel to second-place Kinmel Bay in their final match at Y Morfa on May 9.
At present, the Amateurs are on 50 points from 19 games, while Kinmel Bay have 49 from 20, with Conwy Borough Swifts and the leaders to play at home.
It might only go down to the final day and the clash of the top two if the Amateurs fail to take six points from their next two matches or Bay slip up against Conwy.
Bay have already clinched promotion to Tier 3, while the Amateurs have not applied.
The Amateurs are unbeaten in 18 league matches – 16 of those wins – after Saturday’s victory at Conwy.
Swifts’ game plan was to stay disciplined and sit back in a shape with no intention of pressing their opponents high. Conwy were excellent in cutting off passing lines into the final third and made it difficult for Amateurs to play their usual flowing football.
The Amateurs stayed patient before breaking the deadlock with their first shot of the game. A free kick from Danny Hughes looped high towards the back post was met by the head of Azz Rogers who nodded the ball back across goal to find the back of the net from a tight angle.
Swifts remained disciplined, but on 31 minutes a moment of magic from Billy Sieben saw him hit a left-footed curling shot on the half volley which went in off the post.
Half-time: 0-2.
Conwy came out with a little more intent in the second half and a couple of mistakes from Amateurs let the hosts in twice but keeper Kyle King stood tall and the opposition failed to capitalise.
Amateurs made it 3-0 midway through the second half, when Ant Tidswell produced some good work down the right before laying the ball back to top-scorer Lee Thomas, whose cross-come-shot flew over the keeper into the far corner of the net.
Ruthless Kinmel Bay made it four wins on the bounce without conceding a goal as they went nap at the Recreation Ground.
After uncharacteristically missing two penalties, Connor Morris made amends with his 25th goal of the season in a first half where Lewis Thompson also found the target.
Steve Kirk and Jacob Jones netted after the interval before Thompson made it a double.
Adam Williams was a hat-trick hero as Rhos climbed out of the bottom two by winning their penultimate game of the season.
Williams struck on 5, 51 and 69 minutes, while Louis Gizzi also found the net for the visitors, Tomos Jones and Ifan Jones replying for Cerrig, who led 2-1 at half time.
What a day for Kai Davies!
The Mochdre star scored all four goals to seal his team an emphatic win over Y Glannau, who responded with a Harrison Bellis penalty.
Davies netted on 9, 38, 69 and 90 minutes. While his stats show a hat-trick scored against Bro Cernyw in 2022-23, there is no record of a four-goal haul dating back as far as 2019-20.
Quite a shock in the Division One title race as second-place Penrhyn Bay slipped up at third-from-bottom Crozzy.
Aiden McBride’s double clinched the points for the hosts, Scott Court with the only goal for Bay, who are three points behind leaders Prestatyn Sports with a game in hand but a vastly inferior goal dufference.
Elgan Hughes, Steffan Jones and sub Rhys Brown found the net for victorious Henllan, the away side’s reply coming via Mike Chapman’s 24th goal in 16 games for the Faen.
Sports went goal crazy to take a firm grip on the table summit, helped more so by second-place Penrhyn Bay’s unexpected loss at Crozzy.
Mike Jones led the charge for Sports with six goals – including three penalties – to move onto 34 for the season.
It was a great afternoon for 16-year-old Alfie Griffiths, who scored four times including a spot-kick to increase his total for the campaign to 13.
Lewis Eyre-Williams and Dylan Taylor completed the rout.
Captain Liam Bowers made it 31 goals this season with a double in Rhuddlan’s narrow win.
Evan Espley and Riley Booker also found the net for the hosts, Luke Appleby (2) and Jack James running Dyrny close.
