North East Wales Trophy: Swarbrick hat-trick inspires Ruabon to victory, Caerwys triumph

Hat-trick star Andrew Swarbrick led the charge as Rovers won emphatically at Court Road.
Sporting all-rounder Swarbrick, who hit 32 goals for Ruabon in their 2022-23 Tier 5 Championship winning season, made it four for the current campaign with Tuesday’s treble.
Joshua Hughes’ fourth-minute goal was all that separated the sides at half time, then four minutes into the second period Scott Keating levelled for Bellevue.
Charlie Mazzarella made it 2-1 to the visitors on 51 before Swarbrick took centre stage, finding the net after 60, 62 and 88 minutes.

CPD Caerwys 2 CPD Yr Wyddgrug 1

Leon Sumer’s 18th minute spot-kick gave Yr Wyddgrug the lead, but before half time Ellis Trubshaw and Ellis Williams hit back to give Caerwys the edge.
No further goals in the second half, so the hosts took the points.

Penycae Reserves 1 Brymbo 1

Callum Edwards netted in the 17th minute to hand Brymbo the lead, but Callum Dutton replied on 56 to earn Penycae a draw.

Chirk AAA 2 Llay Welfare Reserves 2

All-square at Holyhead Road,
Tom Wells and Adam Burgess put Llay two-up before Ed Rogers responded for the hosts close to the break.
Luke Dwyer equalised in the 72nd minute to ensure honours ended even.
