NORTH WALES CRICKET LEAGUE REPORTS – JULY 9

DIVISION TWO

Clwb Criced Caernarfon (0) 78-9 Bethesda (1) 81-1

Bethesda completed a dozen straight wins this season at the expense of bottom side Caernarfon.

Put into bat, the Cofis finished on 78-9 off 40 overs.

Craig Newey was ultra-economical with the ball for Pesda, taking 3-6 from 9 overs, Andrew Day collected 3-17 and Ashley Rowlands 2-20.

The visitors then eased to 81-1 off 17, Carwyn L Williams 44 not out and Matthew Harrison 31.

Carmel and District (15) 187-8 Mold 2nd XI (0) 48-9

Openers Gwion Dafydd (72) and Danny Owens (43) did most to ensure Carmel set a winning total at Pen-y-Gelli.

Skipper Ben Sim added 32 as the hosts posted 187-8, Luca Davies 2-45 for the visitors.

Mold could only manage 48-9 in reply, Owens 3-4, Ieuan Jones 3-13 and Nick Hughes 3-22.

Menai Bridge 2nd XI (15) 101-0 Hawarden Park 2nd XI (0) 96-10

Second-place Menai Bridge seconds maintained their awesome run of form with a 15-0 points verdict at Tyn-y-Caeau.

Hawarden Park 2nd XI chose to bat and were dismissed for 96, Anthony Salisbury 34 no, skipper Ian Granger picking up 4-28 and Liam Bibby 3-21 for the hosts.

Menai cruised to 101-0 in 24.3 overs, Sam Bixby 63 no and Matt Bixby 32 no.

Mochdre 2nd XI (14) 192-6 Gresford 2nd XI (1) 95-10

Scott Roberts and Harri Mostyn Jones both scored half-centuries in Mochdre seconds’ comfortable victory over visitors Gresford seconds.

Roberts hit 64 and Mostyn Jones 54 in the home total of 192-6, Matt Daulby 2-17 and Freddie Clegg 2-25 for the away side.

Graham Opie then scooped 3-2 as Gresford were sent packing for 95, Mostyn Jones adding 2-16 and Sion Gravell 2-25.

Ruthin 1st XI (0) 107-9 Northop 2nd XI (15) 109-0

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Ruthin could only muster a weak 107-9, Ieuan Wynne Lewis 44 and Osian Roberts 28.

Finn Jenkins bagged 3-16 and Sandeep Anantharaman 3-30 for the away team, who then breezed to 109-0, Robert Alderson 51 no and Tom Sudder 48 no.

St Asaph 2nd XI (15) 258-6 Bersham (0) 113-10

David North produced a fine all-round show

A big win for Saints seconds, who amassed 258-6 after being inserted by the opposition.

Dominic Haynes struck 79, skipper Ben Murphy 65, Roger Cloete 41 no and David North 30 for the hosts, Rathnayaka Mudiyanselage Shanka gathering 3-49 for the visitors.

Bersham’s strong batting line-up was then rolled over for just 113, North 4-26, Elliot Morris 3-27 and Russell Moore 2-15 for the dominant Saints.
