North Wales Cricket League final report 2026: Llandudno, Bersham and Brymbo 3rd XI crowned champions

NORTH WALES CRICKET LEAGUE REPORTS – SATURDAY, SEPT 12

DIVISION ONE

Llandudno (18) 54-0 Bangor 2nd XI (0) 52-10

Llandudno are heading back to the Premier League as Division One champions.
Relegated from the top-flight, which they have won more times than any other club, in 2024, Tudno sealed the division below’s title with a 10-wicket thrashing of relegated Bangor seconds at The Oval last Saturday.
Put into bat, Bangor were blasted out for just 52, Sean McFarlane taking 3-9, Lalmon TV 3-15 and Tom Thornton 2-8.
The hosts then raced to 54-0 off 6.5 overs, McFarlane 28 not out and Sam Rimmington 25 no.

Abergele (5) 173-10 Pontblyddyn (18) 249-6

Runners-up Pontblyddyn celebrated their promotion to the Premier in style with a 76-run victory at Pentre Mawr Park.
Invited to bat, Pont made a formidable 249-6 off 45 overs, Ben Mason 60, Gethin Thomas 56 and Abs Dey 37. David Moulson 2-38 and Lewis Tolond 2-49 for Gele.
The home side were dismissed for 173, having at one stage been 62-8.
Number 10 bat and skipper Toland produced a remarkable knock of 74 not out, Ben Garnett earlier making 39, Mason and Vishwa Manawaduge both taking 3-24 for the visitors, Osian Rhys Jones 2-22.

Bethesda (6) v Buckley (6) – Cancelled

Gresford (18) 63-0 Connah’s Quay (0) 62-10

Wes Evans took 4-28, Huw Bellis 3-6 and Simon Perry 2-9 as Gresford sent Connah’s Quay packing for a paltry 62, then the hosts eased to 63-0 off 8.1, Daniel Williams 39 not out.

Halkyn (18) 192-3 Northop 2nd XI (4) 191-5

Halkyn finished fifth in a season where starting with a 60-point deduction probably cost them the title.
The Flintshire side ended the campaign with a big win over Northop seconds, who were limited to 191-5, James Roberts 83 and David Foulkes 47, Callum Ferguson 3-34 for the hosts, who responded with 192-3, Nathan Lavender 74, George Jones 43 and Nathan Roett 38 not out.

Mochdre 2nd XI (18) 152-6 Conwy (5) 151-10

Tom Opie’s crucial unbeaten 51 helped Mochdre seconds to victory over local rivals Conwy.
The visitors won the toss and batted, setting 151 all out, Jonathon Davies 46, Alex J Davies 3-21, Azeem Shamsi 3-23 and Jack Austin 3-38 for the home side, who hit back with 152-6 off 29 overs, Opie’s half-ton coming off 47 balls and including six fours and a six, Carter Tawhai 3-30 and Alex Price 2-17 for the Castlemen.

DIVISION THREE

Bersham (15) 109-0 Ruthin (0) 105-10

Bersham are the 2026 Division Three champions by a 27-point margin after rounding off the season with their 19th win in 22 matches.
Noufal Khader took 5-21, making it 49 league wickets for the summer beating last year’s total of 48. as the hosts removed Ruthin for 105 after putting them into bat.
Bersham responded with 109-0 off just 14.1 overs, skipper Bibin Sunny 47 not out and Khader 46 not out.

Mold 2nd XI (0) 94-10 Bethesda 2nd XI (15) 98-1

Despite suffering a rare defeat last Saturday, Mold seconds are still promoted to Division Two after an excellent campaign overall.
The home side were dismissed for just 94, Richard Lee Williams 4-14 and Ian Owen 4-25 for Pesda, who replied with a winning 98-1, Ioan Meilir Roberts 57 not out.

Buckley 2nd XI (3) 144-10 Hawarden Park 2nd XI (12) 147-6

Craig Wilson returned magnificent figures of 4-7 off eight overs and then top-scored with 41 in his team’s Hawarden Park seconds’ victory at Lane End.
Harry Sprowell made 48 in Bucks’ effort of 144 all out, Park’s Wilson well supported in the bowling stakes by Tom Wilson 2-2, Cethin Eunson 2-24 and Daniel Lodge 2-29.
The visitors made it to 147-6, chief run-maker Wilson putting on a fine first wicket partnership with captain Christopher Brooks (39).
Jatin Sharma scooped 3-16 and Paul Threlfall 3-26 for the home side.

Conwy 2nd XI (2) 59-10 Abergele 2nd XI (13) 60-4

Sanjo Kuttan claimed 4-13 and Sebin Sebastion 2-7 as Abergele seconds blew away Conwy seconds for just 59 and then the visitors reached 60-4, Gwion Roberts 2-10, to complete a 13-2 points success.

Connah’s Quay 2nd XI (12) 92-6 Halkyn 2nd XI (3) 88-10

Sheika Sabbir snared 4-1, Jake Chare 3-21 and Nathan Gregory 2-19 as Connah’s Quay bowled out Halkyn for 88, Duane Williams 31.
Quay reached the winning post at 92-6, skipper Mike Probert a vital 36 not out, Dylan Wilson 3-18 and Oliver Jones 2-6 for the away team.

Pontblyddyn 2nd XI (2) 181-8 Clwb Criced Caernarfon (13) 184-5

Monis Altaf’s second century of the season guided Caernarfon to a five-wicket triumph at Alder Meadow.
Inserted by the visitors, Pont made a decent 181-8 off 40 overs, skipper Dave Evans 52 not out and Morgan Roberts 42, Dipin Varghese 3-26 for the Cofis, Llyr Erddyn Davies 2-19 and Altaf 2-36.
Caernarfon made it to 184-5 off 35.2, Altaf’s 104 not out taking him past 900 league runs this season, Grant Peisley 34, Gareth Jones 2-21 for the Flintshiremen.

DIVISION FOUR

Brymbo 3rd XI (11) 92-8 Bersham 2nd XI (4) 86-10

Brymbo thirds secured the Division Four title by a 10-point gap, but the Steelmen had to struggle to win their final game at home to Bersham seconds.
The visitors were all out for 86, Shins Varghese 30 not out, Ross Roberts 4-22, Louie Manning 3-20 and Austin Hart 2-10 for the hosts, who scrapped home on 92-8, a ninth-wicket stand of 13 guiding them across the line.
Thushardath Ep landed 2-11, Gokuldas P Kesavan 2-12 and George Thomas 2-19 for the Colliers.

Clwb Criced Y Bala (3) Llanrwst 2nd XI (3) – cancelled

Bala were denied a chance to pinch the title when their game against Llanrwst seconds was called off, but the Lakesiders’ runners-up spot clinched them a promotion berth.

Corwen 2nd XI (3) Llandudno 2nd XI (30 – cancelled

Ruthin 2nd XI (2) 139-10 Gresford 2nd XI (13) 204-3

James Griffin (86 not out) and Harry Parker (58 no) led Gresford seconds to a winning total of 204-3 at Ruthin seconds, who were sent packing for 139, Alun Jones 58, Daniel Jones 4-32, Parker 2-3, Vishak Kartha 2-18 and Emlyn Morris 2-29 for the victors.

Hawarden Park 3rd XI (2) 120-10 Northop 3rd XI (13) 121-4

Bella Williams bagged 4-22 and Samuel Hodgins 3-26 as Northop thirds removed Hawarden Park thirds for 120, Matthew Leek 50, then the visitors pocketed the points with a reply of 121-4, Tomas Bevan 39, Jo Robinson 2-31 for the hosts.

Marchwiel and Wrexham 2nd XI (4) 174-6 Carmel and District 2nd XI (11) 192-3

Nick Hughes (retired not out 85) and Matthew Isgar (75 not out) ensured Carmel seconds made a fine score of 192-3 and the visitors won the day after restricting Marchwiel and Wrexham seconds to 174-6, Michael Forgrave 46, Matthew Lewis 37, Ranjith Appuhamy 2-23 for the triumphant travellers.
