Conwy celebrate a memorable victory over champions-elect Llandudno

NORTH WALES CRICKET LEAGUE DIVISION ONE REPORTS – SEPTEMBER 5

Llandudno (4) 141-10 Conwy (18) 142-6

Although guaranteed promotion and almost certain to be crowned Division One champions, Llandudno were left jolted by a home derby defeat against Conwy last Saturday.
Winning the toss and electing to bat at The Oval, Tudno were bowled out for just 141, Elliott Hughes topping the chart with 37, while for the visitors Patrick Jelley claimed 3-33, Tom Plank 2-12, Alex Price 2-29 and Iwan Roberts 2-40.
In reply, Conwy reached 142-6 off 42.2, Harrison Hudson (32) and Jonathon Davies (30) putting on 69 for the first wicket, Lalmon TV picking up 2-22 and Sean McFarlane 2-24 for the leaders.

Bangor 2nd XI (4) 44-10 Connah’s Quay (18) 273-8

Quay set a huge 273-8 at Ty Newydd after winning the toss and opting for first knock.
Liam Cappiello (78), Anro Burger (51), Lucas Probert (44) and Cole Hooson (31 not out) all made good scores for the Deesiders, Matthew Flynn taking 4-43 and Oliver Blackham 2-55 for the home side.
Joshua Clarke then snared 6-19 and Lee Davies 2-19 as Bangor seconds were blown away for just 44.

Bethesda (18) 133-3 Mochdre 2nd XI (2) 130-10

Matthew Harrington top-scored with 50 in Bethesda’s comfortable seven-wicket victory at home to Mochdre seconds.
Calling the coin correctly and batting, the visitors were dismissed for 130, Chris Barry, Tom Opie and Zachary Sardar all scoring 26, Harry Devine grabbing 3-21 off nine, Andrew Day 2-3, Marlyn Gamage 2-30 and Ian Owen 2-42 for the hosts.
Pesda reached 133-3 off 24,3 overs, opener Harrington’s half-ton well-supported by Jamie Hertbert (33).

Buckley (18) 172-4 Abergele (4) 171-10

Abbey Mayers collected an outstanding 5-26 in Buckley’s six-wicket success at Lane End.
Put into bat, Abergele were all out for 171, David Moulson best with 32, Mayers returning her best figures for the club, Matthew Blunden also scooping an impressive 4-29.
Buckley comfortably made it to 172-4 off 41 overs, Rob Loader 64 and Harry Sprowell 50 not out, that pair putting on 91 for the fourth wicket. Moulson bagged 2-10 off nine for Gele.

Northop 2nd XI (3) 155-6 Gresford (18) 156-2

Northop seconds were limited to a modest 155-6 off 45 overs, James Roberts 57 and Matthew Mullarkey 38 not out, Simon Perry 2-16 and Tom Crewe 2-20 for Gresford, who hit back with a winning 156-2 off just 23, Wes Evans 81 not out off 64 balls – seven fours and three sixes – Joseph Benson 42.

Pontblyddyn (18) 146-10 Halkyn (5) 79-10

Second-place Pontblyddyn set a modest 146 all out, Michael Littler with an impressive 60, Callum Ferguson 4-7 and Faizan Usman 3-12 for Halkyn, who were then blitzed out for just 79, Ben Mason 4-26, Vishwa Manawaduge 3-17 and Osian Rhys Jones 2-3.
