North Wales Cricket League Divisions 1-4: Roett shines again for Halkyn, Llandudno’s Lalmon takes seven

DIVISION ONE

Halkyn 1st XI (18) 234-6 Bethesda 1st XI (7) 186-7

Nathan Roett’s second highest score for Halkyn of 115 did most to ensure the Flintshire side celebrated a 10th straight victory last weekend.
The West Indian all-rounder struck eight fours and six sixes in his 87-ball effort, which helped the hosts set 234-6 off 45 overs after winning the toss and batting.
In reply, Bethesda were restricted to 186-7, Richie Parry 55 and Harry Devine 46, Roett making it a complete performance by taking 4-32, Nabeel Khan picking up 2-13.

Abergele 1st XI (3) 145-10 Northop 2nd XI (18) 146-5

Gele posted a modest 145 all out after being invited to bat, Ben Garnett 38, Elliot Berg taking 3-19, Thomas Hughes and Joe Griffiths both 2-25 for Northop seconds, who reached a winning 146-5, Leo Greig 37, Lewis Tolond 2-23 for the hosts.

Buckley 1st XI (18) 174-10 Bangor 2nd XI (5) 117-10

Rocco Franco (62) and Joel Sampson (37) laid the victory foundations for Buckley with an opening stand of 73, Peyton Creed claiming 5-26 and Daniel Flynn 4-35 for Bangor, who collapsed to 117 all out, Louis Parry 5-21 and Jack Whitley 4-53.

Gresford 1st XI (18) 109-1 Conwy 1st XI (0) 107-10

Gareth Bell snapped up 3-10 off nine overs, Huw Bellis 2-14 and Simon Perry 2-16 as Gresford rolled over Conwy for just 107 and then breezed to 109-1 from 14.5 for an 18-0 points verdict, Wes Evans 61 not out and Joseph Benson 32 no.

Llandudno 1st XI (18) 197-9 Mochdre 2nd XI (7) 110-10

Sean McFarlane led the way with 46 as Llandudno set 197-9 off 45, Finlay Jones 3-23 and Alex J Davies 3-60 for Mochdre seconds, who were dismissed in response for 110, Lalmon TV a stunning 7-39 and Oliver Hughes 2-20.

Pontblyddyn 1st XI (18) 117-10 Connah’s Quay 1st XI (5) 102-10

Pont must have feared the worst after being bowled out for just 117 after being put into bat, Vishwa Manawaduge 40, Hashmat Safi 3-11 and Lee Davies 3-37 for the visitors, but Connah’s Quay were then blown away for 102, Ioan Jones 3-20, Gethin Thomas 3-23 and Rhys Jones 2-8.

DIVISION TWO

Brymbo 2nd XI (3) 168-10 Carmel & District 1st XI (12) 203-8

Maneesha Ayomal Nissanka (86) and Ben Sim (62) put on 138 for the second wicket to help Carmel concoct a winning score of 203-8, Brymbo seconds then getting sent packing for 168, Jake Hughes 62 and Jason Taylor 32, Nissanka 3-21 and Amer Jamil 3-27 for the victors.

Denbigh 2nd XI (1) 187-8 Marchwiel and Wrexham 1st XI (14) 188-2

Andy Clarke hit a cracking 79 off 65 balls as Denbigh seconds made 187-8 off 40, Sam Shoemark 2-23 for Marchwiel and Wrexham, who hit back in style with a winning 188-2 off 34.4, Gareth Evans 69 and Chris Woodcock 68 not out.

Llanrwst 1st XI (4) 142-10 Corwen 1st XI (11) 161-9

Kentus Augustin (43), Jordan Williams (32) and Will Roberts (30) made the key scores in Corwen’s 161-9, Caron Williams 2-16 and Tamal Achanjee 2-30 for Llanrwst, who could only manage 142 all out in reply, Aron Hughes 65, Danny Jones 3-19, William Pooler 2-13 and Augustin 2-22 for the triumphant visitors.

Llay Welfare 1st XI (4) 112-10 Pwllheli 1st XI (11) 113-9

An unbroken last wicket stand of 32 between Harri Adams (28 not out) and Nico Jones (7 no) got Pwllheli over the winning line.
Llay were all back in the hutch for just 112, Nathan Humphreys 34, Omar Aftab 4-24, Adams 2-4, Ioan Roberts 2-24, and Pwll progressed from 81-9 to 113-9 to seal a one-wicket win, Tom Davies 5-25 and Humphreys 2-16 for the home team.

Menai Bridge 2nd XI (13) 159-8 Gwersyllt Park 2nd XI (2) 106-10

Opener Osian Jones’ 61 was the stand out knock in Menai Bridge’s total of 159-8, Owais Saeed 3-29 for Gwersyllt, who were removed for just 106, Jack Watkins a battling 54, Andrew Wannop 4-28, David Owen 3-23 and Lewis Foran 2-26 for the hosts.

St Asaph 2nd XI (14) 122-2 Dolgellau 1st XI (1) 121-10

Robert Humphreys hit a defiant 57 not out as seven-player Dolgellau set a modest 121 all out at Elwy Park Grove, Mark Hutchinson 3-22 for Saints, who responded with 122-2 off 15.1 for a 14-1 points decision, Roger Cloete 33 not out.

DIVISION THREE

Bethesda 2nd XI (3) Pontblyddyn 2nd XI (3) 69-7 – abandoned

Clwb Criced Caernarfon (3) Halkyn 2nd XI (3) 22-1 – abandoned

Connah’s Quay 2nd XI (3) 164-7 Bersham 1st XI (12) 169-6

Leaders Bersham made it 14 wins in 15 starts with a hard-fought success at Connah’s Quay seconds.
Inserted by the opposition, Quay produced a decent score of 164-7, Darren Jones 58, George Thomas 2-23 and Sujeesh Vazhadan 2-25 for the visitors.
Bersham hit back with 169-6, Vazhadan 50 and Kiran Viswambharan 30, Nathan Gregory 2-40 for the Deesiders.

Conwy 2nd XI (15) 86-0 Buckley 2nd XI (0) 85-10

Guto Davies scooped 5-15 off 7.5 overs and Callum Davies took 3-19 as Conwy sent Buckley tumbling to 85 all out at Bodlondeb.
The hosts then cruised to 86-0 from 12, Latham Tawhai 39 not out and Lucas Davies 30 no.

Hawarden Park 2nd XI (2) 143-7 Abergele 2nd XI (13) 149-4

Opener Ajin Vijayan hit a crucial 74 not out as Abergele seconds completed a comfortable six-wicket victory at Moor Lane.
Christopher Brooks top-scored with 51 as Hawarden Park seconds made 143-7, Aruk Arikkat 2-22 for Gele, who responded with 149-4 off 35, skipper David Holmes adding 33 to Vijayan’s superb effort. Robert Goodwin snapped up 3-30 for Park.

Ruthin 1st XI (0) 117-10 Mold 2nd XI (15) 231-5

Hayden Millington posted 73 and Wes Gillam 67 in Mold seconds’ imposing total of 231-5 at the Memorial Fields.
Jonas Roberts pocketed 3-44 for the hosts, who were blasted out for 117, Keith Embleton 4-14 and Henry Wiseman 2-16 for the winners from Flintshire.

DIVISION FOUR

Bersham 2nd XI (3) 185-10 Gresford 2nd XI (12) 235-3

Asked to bat first, Gresford amassed 235-3 off 40, James Griffin 83 not out, skipper Gez Jones 60 and Sam Burke 33, Gokuldas P Kesavan 2-25 for Bersham seconds, who were all out for a spirited 185, Vishak Vattakkavil 44 and Anand Babu 30, Vishak Kartha 4-38, Gez Jones 2-1 and Burke 2-25 for the visitors.

Brymbo 3rd XI v Ruthin 2nd XI – Ruthin 2nd XI conceded

Carmel & District 2nd XI (12) 164-2 Llanrwst 2nd XI (3) 124-7

Captain Daniel Stuchfield (82 not out) and Ranjith Appuhamy (42) helped Carmel chalk up 164-2, then the hosts restricted the visitors to 124-7, skipper Aled Hughes 44, Appuhamy 2-17 and Dafydd Timothy 2-20.

Corwen 2nd XI (0) 16-10 Clwb Criced Y Bala (15) 18-0

It was all finished in less than 20 overs at the War Memorial Park.
Corwen seconds were skittled out for just 16, Nathan Aldridge 5-1, Caio Jones 2-1 and Jason Jones 2-4 and Bala reached 18-0 off 3.4.

Marchwiel and Wrexham 2nd XI (0) 118-10 Northop 3rd XI (15) 119-0

Michael Forgrave was chief contributor with 42 as Marchwiel and Wrexham were all out for 118, Beau Melling 2-0, Samuel Hodgins 2-18 and Michael Vernon 2-22 for Northop thirds, who then eased to 119-0 off 19.5, Tomas Bevan 79 not out.

Pwllheli 2nd XI (0) 134-10 Llandudno 2nd XI (15) 135-10

Neil Murray-Williams’ stoic 62 helped Pwllheli seconds set a respectable 134 all out, Shana Kelly 4-22 and Charlie Russell 2-20 for Llandudno seconds, who made it to 135-0 off 21.5, skipper Jack Rimmington scoring 100 not out exactly – his fourth career ton – and Sofia Freeman-Patel 28 no.
