North Wales women’s all-time club XIs: No 10 – Llandudno FC

Compiling a best Llandudno XI, statistically at least, is tougher than the others because it appears a lot of their stats are not on COMET (apologies if they are and I just can’t find them).
Anyhow, this latest feature is more biog-based than stats-based.
LLANDUDNO LADIES FC ALL-TIME XI
Sara Williams

Was an outstanding keeper in the 2021-22 season when Llandudno won the Tier 2 Adran North title.
What made her achievement even more amazing was the fact she had been an outfield player for much of her career.
Sara has gone on to star for Pwllheli as a goalkeeper in recent seasons, winning a host of trophies.
Cara Hughes

Right-back who impressed for Llandudno in the 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons.
Very dynamic when joining the attack as well as being a solid defender. Has also had good spells with Caernarfon Town and Pwllheli in her career.
Madison Williams

Lively and talented left-back or capable of playing in a number of other positions.
Played for Llandudno in their memorable 3-2 win over Wrexham in May 2022 which clinched the Adran North title.
Known as ‘Little Maddie’ as there have been two players named Maddie Williams in the Tudno line-up in the past, she moved on to Pontypridd Women after Llandudno and won promotion to the Welsh Premier.
Wales cap at under-17 level.
Louisha Doran

Another versatile player who excelled in a centre-back role at Wrexham AFC when they moved up to the Adran Premier, but despite some great performances, injuries badly hampered her progress.
Great track record for Llandudno in the past, including spells in the Welsh Premier and later in the 2022-23 Adran North side. Has also represented Wales.
Stacey Tradewell

One of the all-time best to wear the shirt, both when the team was known as Llandudno Junction, then later Llandudno.
Stacey is a genuine goalscoring midfielder.
One of her finest seasons was 2021-22, when she scored 20 goals as Llandudno landed the inaugural Tier 2 Genero Adran North title and NWCFA Challenge Cup double.
Katie Bowe

Star of Llandudno’s run to the 2015-16 Welsh Cup final, where she scored a stunner in the showpiece game itself in a 5-2 loss to Cardiff City. Katie hit 21 goals that season.
Has played for numerous other clubs, but was outstanding in her time for Llandudno Junction and Llandudno. Most renowned for her stunning long range goals and ability to score from corners and free-kicks.
Kelsey Davies

Selected for the Adran North Team of the Season for 2024-25, Kelsey has represented Wales at under-17 and U19 levels.
A right winger with pace to burn, her goal scoring skills have also served her well over the years, especially in more recent campaigns.
When Llandhdno won the Adran North for a second time in 2023-24, Kelsey bagged 15 goals in 11 appearances, finishing second-highest in the league.
Ffion Owen

Midfield general who won the Adran North title with Llandudno in both 2021-22 and 2023-24.
Another true goalscoring midfielder who has made the team tick on so many occasions.
One of North Wales’ most decorated players, she has won North Wales League titles with Llangefni Town, Caernarfon Town and Amlwch Town (Division Two). Has more than 100 career goals, brilliant for a midfielder.
Sofie Owen

Long-serving player who could well be the club’s record appearance-maker.
Played for Llandudno Junction before the team became known as Llandudno FC.
Versatile player who has operated in defence in recent seasons, but was originally employed in an attacking role, scoring a steady flow of goals.
When she does call it a day, there will be huge boots to fill.
Ella Jones

A remarkable talent with bags of pace and tremendous finishing ability.
She has won FOUR Adran North titles – with Llandudno in 2021-22 and 2023-24 as well as Connah’s Quay Nomads (her current club) in 2024-25 and 2025-26.
First made waves when her hat-trick won Penrhyn Bay the FAW Under-16 Welsh Cup in 2018-19.
Since then, despite two serious injury lay-offs, she has notched a stunning 84 goals in 64 senior appearances (51 goals for Llandudno, 33 for Nomads).
Maddie Williams

Is one of just three players to score more than 50 goals in the Adran North League.
Won the said league title with Llandudno in 2021-22 and 2023-24.
In all competitions, the Llanfairfechan-based forward has played in 112 games for Tudno and found the net 83 times. Unselfish, hard-working striker who is neat and decisive on the ball.
