Rhos United have appointed a new manager.
He is Ross Quayle, a man with an aim to get the North Wales Coast East Premier Division side rising up the table.
Quayle takes over at a good time, with Rhos having picked up their first league win of the season last weekend, beating Glan Conwy 2-0 away.
After last season’s high of winning the Division One title and REM Jones Cup, the 2025-26 campaign has not started well for the red and blacks.
Richard Hillier-Evans recently departed as first-team boss to join the management at Tier 3 St Asaph City and for the last three games Brandon Lee has been in caretaker charge for Rhos.
Now comes the appointment of Quayle, who is clearly looking forward to his new role.
He joins the club with a strong background in grassroots football and a real passion for developing teams built on togetherness, hard work, and pride, values that fit perfectly with the spirit of Rhos United.
The new manager said: “It’s a massive honour to be appointed manager of Rhos United. This is a club with great history, passionate people, and a real sense of community, and I’m proud to be part of it.
“The players achieved something special last season by going unbeaten and earning promotion, and now the challenge is to build on that success.
“We’ve had a tough start to life in Tier 4, but there’s real quality in this group and a belief that, together, we can turn things around quickly.
“I’m also really pleased to have Brandon Lee alongside me as assistant. He’s done a great job in his time here, especially guiding the team to their first win of the season last week. His knowledge of the club and connection with the players will be a massive help as we move forward.
“I’ve already spoken to a number of the lads, and the hunger and positivity they’ve shown has been brilliant. There’s a real sense that everyone wants to be part of this project and push Rhos United in the right direction.
“My aim is to bring back that energy, togetherness and clear identity that everyone connected with Rhos United can be proud of. I want us to play with intensity, pride, and a will to win every time we step onto the pitch.
“I can’t wait to get started, get to work on the training pitch, and build something special here. The hard work starts now.”
“Ross is the right man for the job, looking at his background within grassroots football and beyond.
“Brandon did a great job as caretaker manager, providing the club with our first league win of the season, and he’s looking forward to assisting Ross in his new role as manager.”
“Everyone at Rhos United welcomes Ross with his passion and commitment to the club, and we can’t wait to see what’s next as we continue our journey in Tier 4.”
