Leaders Brickfield Rangers, going for a fifth straight win, were well placed on 65 minutes when Andrew Vale latched onto a long ball from ex-Citizens keeper Carl Jones and finished well for his eighth goal in five games this season.
Rangers had warmed to the rask well, Jones frustrating his former club with some good stops, and as the game progressed it looked like the hosts were about to experience a second home loss of the campaign.
But perhaps inspired by it being manager Michael Johnston’s final game in charge, Bangor dug deep and won it.

And then on 85, Declan McManus was the supplier as Connor Evans made it 2-1.
The 563 crowd were rocking – and so are Bangor City 1876, up to third in the table and level on points with Brickfield.
After the game, Johnston, who had been manager since February 2022 and leaves with a fantastic 69.95% win ratio from his 183 games in charge, announced his depature.
