Jack Parry produced career-best bowling figures for Colwyn Bay at the weekend

1ST XI FIRST DIVISION

Spring View (1) 80-10 Colwyn Bay (20) 84-3

Jack Parry produced a career best 6-35 as Colwyn Bay stormed to a seven-wicket success which lifted them to third place in the LDCC First Division.

Wales NC North bowler Parry starred for the Bay, who dismissed Spring View for just 80 in 30.4 overs after putting the hosts into bat.

Dulanjala Mendis also picked up 3-5 off 7.4, Parry’s six-for coming from 15 overs.

Colwyn eased to 84-3 in 22.2, Dan Russell 24, to seal a 20-1 points victory.

1ST XI SECOND DIVISION

Parkfield Liscard (1) 99-10 Northop Hall (20) 100-2

Nathan Roett bagged 5-43 in Northop Hall’s comfortable triumph at Pembertons Meadow.

Put into bat, home side Parkfield were rolled over for just 99 in 36.2, Roett’s effort well backed by James Hurlin’s 2-12 from seven and 2-25 off 11 by Liam Evans-Ford.

Hall took their time reaching 100-2, opener Andrew Watkin hitting 55 and Hurlin 26 as the visitors chalked up a 20-1 points verdict.

Caldy (20) 88-10 Prestatyn (5) 74-10

After sending Caldy packing for just 88, Prestatyn must have fancied their chances of victory, but could only muster 74 in response.

Aarya Jadhav claimed a fantastic 7-28 off 20 and Benjamin Hughes 3-20. the pair taking the home batting line-up apart between them.

In reply, Prestatyn were all out for 14 less than their opponents, Asiri Gamage 5-12 off 10 for the Wirral outfit, Umega Chaturanga 4-30.

2ND XI PREMIER DIVISION

Colwyn Bay 2nd XI (25) 201-3 dec New Brighton 2nd XI (3) 104-10

Opener Joshua Brown made an unbeaten 85 and skipper Tom Roberts posted 65 as Bay seconds set a winning total at Penrhyn Avenue.

A maximum points, 97-run victory made it a weekend win double for Colwyn Bay CC.

Bay seconds won the toss, elected to bat, and recorded a score of 201-3 declared off 38.5.

Brown added 54 for the second wicket with Matt Russell (38) before putting on 129 with Roberts for the third.

New Brighton seconds were all back in the hutch for 104, Tom Clarke 4-15, Ryan Holtby 3-21 from 12 and James Jones 3-27.

2ND X1 SECOND DIVISION

Northop Hall 2nd XI (25) 194-6 Parkfield Liscard 2nd XI (3) 69-8

Sion Hellen notched his fourth six-wicket haul of the season for Northop Hall seconds in their win over outclassed Parkfield at Smithy Lane.

Wales NC North Under-19 player Hellen took 6-22 against Saturday’s opponents to make it 34 league wickets in total for Hall seconds in 2024.

The hosts batted first and set 194-6 declared off 40.2, Gareth Fox top-scoring with 64, Thomas Doggett adding 44 and David Parry 35, the latter pair forming an opening stand of 79.

Parkfield’s response ended on 69-8, with two ‘did not bats’, Matthew Edwards picking up 2-8 in support of Hellen’s tremendous spell.

Prestatyn 2nd XI (0) 73-10 Caldy 2nd XI (20) 75-1

Put into bat, Prestatyn seconds were skittled out for just 73, Sulaiman Ahmad best with 24, and Caldy seconds coasted to 75-1 in 13 overs for a 20-0 triumph.
