Connah’s Quay (4) 142-10 Gwersyllt Park (11) 204-6
Captain fantastic Iroshan De Silva top-scored with 85 as Gwersyllt Park moved 20 points clear at the Division One peak with a superb win at Connah’s Quay.
In a rain-reduced encounter, Gwersyllt were asked to bat and chalked up a very decent 204-6 off their 35 allotted overs.
De Silva hit 11 fours and a six in his 90-ball knock, while Alfie Lythgoe added a very impressive 54, sharing in a stand of 118 for the fourth wicket with his skipper.
Lee Davies scooped 2-19 and Rhys Stout 2-37 for the Deesiders.
Quay were then bowled out for 142 in 23.4, Callum Miller best with 34, De Silva snapping up 3-32 and Neil Pearson 3-35 for the visitors, Lewis Cole 2-33 and Daniel Jones 2-38.
Points went 11-4 in Park’s favour.
Llay Welfare (13) 142-8 Conwy (2) 79-10
Nathan Humphreys and David Phennah picked up seven wickets between them as Llay sent Conwy packing for just 79 to wrap up a 63-run win at The Ring.
Welfare were invited to bat and posted 142-8 off their 45 overs, Phennah making the biggest contribution of 40.
Calum Jones claimed 4-29 and Alex Price 2-21 for the visitors, who with the rain intervening faced a revised target of 134 from 41 overs.
They got nowhere near, their innings lasting just 24.5 overs with Humphreys snaring 4-25 and Phennah 3-18 off eight for the victorious hosts.
Northop 2nd XI (3) 130-9 dec Marchwiel and Wrexham (3) 91-1 – MATCH ABANDONED
Rain almost certainly denied Marchwiel and Wrexham a comfortable win at Flint Road.
High-flyers Northop seconds were put in and made 130-9 declared off a reduced 30 overs, Sam Heard-Edwards 3-11, Sam Shoemark 3-20 and Josh Williams 2-27 for the visitors.
Openers Leo Greig (24) and Darren Williams (23) put on 51 for the home team.
In reply, Marchwiel and Wrexham were 91-1 off 15 overs when the weather ensured the match was abandoned.
Skipper George Forgrave was leading the fight for the away side with 42 not out, opener Shoemark notching 23 before becoming the only wicket to fall.
