Super striker Sade joins the Lilywhites – and The Duke is on her way back to Belle Vue!

Sade Benjamin has signed for CPD Y Rhyl 1879

CPD Y Rhyl 1879 have signed one of the best goalscorers in North Wales football for their 2023-24 squad.

Sade Benjamin, 28, returns to the Lilywhites after two seasons with NFA, where she is club record markswoman with 53 goals.

She notched 26 goals in 2021-22 and last season topped that by netting 27 times, finishing third highest scorer overall in the North Wales Women’s League and fourth in the whole of Gogledd Cymru. Sade also recorded the most assists in the NWWFL (25).

Strong, deadly accurate from set pieces and an awesome finisher, the ardent Manchester City fan previously represented Rhyl FC and Rhyl Development, for whom she scored 15 in 2018-19.

Rhyl 1879 women’s manager Cassie Thomas said: “I am over the moon Sade has decided to sign with CPD y Rhyl 1879 , she will be a fantastic addition to the squad and has already fitted in so well.

“Sade is a player who knows where the goal is with great strength and speed and I am really looking forward to seeing Sade score many many goals back at Sunny Rhyl !”

Last season Sade became the first-ever NFA player to reach 50 goals, hitting the landmark in just her 43rd appearance.

Back at Rhyl 1879 after a brief spell at NFA is defender Alicia Duke.

The 19-year-old joined NFA in February and featured in just four matches for the Rhyl-based side.

Alicia was part of the Rhyl 1879 team which won the North Wales Women’s League title in 2021-22 without losing a single match.

She is currently on a three-month coaching stint in America.
