Llandudno and CPDM Y Felinheli have completely dominated the NWCFA Women’s Challenge Cup competition between them over the past four seasons.
Both teams, who compete in Tier 2 Adran North, have won two finals apiece since 2021-22, two of them involving each other..
Holders Llandudno will aim to reach their fourth final in five seasons on Wednesday when they travel to fellow Adran North club CPDM Bangor.
In league clashes between the pair this season, Tudno won 2-1 at Maesdu Park, while it ended 1-1 at Bangor City Stadium in January.
Llandudno have won seven of their last nine matches against Bangor, the Citizens’ only victory coming in the league at Maesdu last season.
Neither side have had the best of 2025-26 campaigns in Adran North, Tudno finishing a lowest-ever third-from-bottom, while Bangor ended up at the basement, but encouragingly won their last encounter 2-1 at Berriew.
Felinheli will target a fourth final appearance in a row when they visit Kinmel Bay.
The last time these teams met was in an epic Welsh Cup tie last season which ended 3-3, Felin edging through on penalties.
Although operating at a level below Wednesday’s opponents in the North Wales Coast League, Bay are a dangerous proposition with just two losses in 15 games this term – both to champions Llangefni Town.
Felin have had a good season overall, finishing fourth in Adran North.
The Cae Seilo side won back-to-back finals in 2022-23 and 2023-24 before losing out to Llandudno last season.
Both semi-finals have the makings of being competitive affairs, but can the two underdogs end the supremacy of their respective opponents’ in this cup in recent times?
