JD CYMRU NORTH – REPORTS NOVEMBER 4-6

Chirk AAA 0 Holywell Town 2

Sunday’s scrap at Holyhead Road saw Holywell make it a perfect 10 straight league victories and remain level on points with leaders Colwyn Bay.

On a sticky pitch, it was the away side who dominated the opening proceedings without creating too much trouble for the Chirk defence.

Chirk’s Dale Davies raced through on 15 minutes to test Wellman keeper Keighan Jones.

On 29 minutes, an unfortunate slip from Chirk defender Caleb Davies let in experienced striker Dave Forbes and he confidently fired past Mark Richards in the home goal.

Steff Rogers and Dale Davies combined well on the half-hour only to be thwarted by a good save from Jones.

Just before the interval Holywell went two-up with defender Danny Sullivan unmarked at the far post to poke the ball home from close range.

The second half saw both teams compete admirably on the heavy pitch and although each had a few half-chances, there was no further score and Chirk’s undefeated home record had gone.

Gresford Athletic 0 Guilsfield 0

Both teams had chances but could not produce a goal at Clappers Lane.

In the first half, Gresford’s Charlie Mann and Sam Spridgeon both saw efforts saved on the line.

Chris Hibbert and Paul Johnson went close for the hosts in the second half, while Guils forced Rhys Williams into a great stop late on

Llanidloes Town 2 Colwyn Bay 3

Bay staged a dramatic recovery to come back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at Victoria Park and preserve their unbeaten record.

The Daffs took the lead on 33 minutes when they were awarded a penalty as Ed Clarke went down after he tried to round keeper Ryan Woods in a one-on-one and Connor Bird scored from the spot.

Bird added a second two minutes before the break, heading over Woods from a free kick to give Llanidloes a two-goal cushion at half time.

The Seagulls improved after the break, four substitutions making an impact. A 30-yard thunderbolt from Lewis Sirrell got them back into the game at 2-1 on 57 minutes.

Cai Owen had a shot blocked on the line, before Matty Hill got on the end of an Alex Downes cross to equalise 10 minutes later.

Bay then completed the turnaround on 79 minutes when Jamie Cumming’s cross was swept into the bottom corner of the net by Tom Creamer.

Mold Alexandra 5 Conwy Borough 2

A rush of goals in the final 10 minutes at Alyn Park meant Mold ran out 5-2 winners.

Steve Watkins put the hosts ahead on 18 minutes before Craig Whelan levelled after 29.

Whelan was red-carded on the hour, and three minutes later Watkins made it 2-1.

Into the 81st minute and Joey Ormrod added a third for Alex.

Sub Thomas Edwards soon notched number four, but three minutes after the same Alex player found his own net.

Shaun Tinsley had the last word for Michael Cunningham’s side in added time.

Penrhyncoch 3 Buckley Town 4

What a fightback from Buckley – from 3-0 down to win 4-3 at Cae Baker.

Goals from Cledan Davies, Daniel Owen and Geoff Kellaway put the Roosters in command, but Pat Hinchcliffe gave Bucks hope with a reply close to half time.

In the second half the visitors took over, Hinchcliffe striking again before Daniel Burgess levelled and Joshua Jones made it 4-3 on 66 minutes.

No more scoring and the points were Town’s.

Porthmadog 1 Cefn Druids 2

Massively improved Druids maintained their winning ways at Y Traeth.

Joshua Lock opened the scoring for the visitors on 16 minutes, only for Rhys Alun to make it one-apiece after 35.

Callum Stephens supplied the Ancients’ 65th minute decider.

Prestatyn Town 1 Llandudno 2

Friday night drama at Bastion Gardens as two late goals sealed the points for the visiting Seasiders.

Tom Hilditch put the hosts in front, but Julian Williams made it 1-1 on 81 minutes before Marc Williams notched the last-gasp winner.

A fourth straight league win for Tudno and sweet revenge for a 2-0 Welsh Cup loss at Bastion Gardens a month earlier.

Ruthin Town 2 Holyhead Hotspur 0

Sam Jones and Tom Dyer provided the goals which delivered three points for Ruthin at Holyhead’s expense.
