North Wales Coast West – Tom reaches 100 goals as Penrhyn stun Darans, Amlwch in late drama, Pesda fight back for draw

NORTH WALES COAST WEST LEAGUE REPORTS – OCTOBER 15
Premier Division

CPD Llanberis 1 CPD Penrhyndeudraeth 2

What a result for Penrhyndeudraeth!
Not only did they ruin Llanberis’ unbeaten record, their striker Tom Hughes reached 100 goals for the club with his match-winning double.
Hughes broke the deadlock on 31 minutes with a beautifully whipped left-foot free kick from about 25 yards – that was goal number 99.
The in-form Marcus Orlik levelled for the Darans in the 61st minute, but on 74 Hughes struck again for the visitors to make it 100 goals in 178 matches for the Maes-y-Parc club.
Llongyfarchiadau Tom !
CPD Aberffraw 1 Amlwch Town 4

Four late goals secured the win which sent Amlwch home on cloud nine.
In the 83rd minute at Cae Cynlas, Town were 1-0 down, yet a frantic burst of goals in those closing minutes totally changed the picture.
Adam Hallybone’s 14th minute penalty put Aberffraw in front and it is fair to say Amlwch rode their luck a few times after that before they turned the game totally on its head deep into the second half.
On 84 minutes, the visitors won a corner from which the ball landed at the feet of captain Dan Jones, who lashed in a right-foot cracker at the second attempt.
In atrocious conditions, Town then won a penalty which Chris Byast put away in very convincing fashion.
A minute into added time, Ioan Dafydd Evans made it 3-1 and with 96 on the clock Byast struck again to round off a memorable win,
Bethesda Athletic 2 Talysarn Celts 2

@APhotoserv
All-square at Parc Meurig as Pesda fought back from two-down to earn a point in this battle of the top two.
The teams remained in the leading two positions after the game, both on 20 points from nine matches, but Talysarn at the summit on goal difference.
Glyn Hughes-Thomas got Celts off to a flyer with goals on three and 12 minutes – his ninth and 10th of the season and he made it eight in his last four matches.
It remained 2-0 until the 70th minute when Bethesda substitute Joe Todd, in his first game back after two months’ out with injury, scored from the penalty spot.
Dylan Hughes of Talysarn was shown a red card before in the 90th minute Scott Hughes delivered an equaliser for Mark Hughes’ side.
Division One
Arriva 1 Llanystumdwy 3
Darren Parry’s early goal and a double from substitute Morgan Griffiths earned Llan the spoils at Nantporth, Luis Teles with the busmen’s reply.
Bontnewydd 3 CPD Mountain Rangers 0
Meilir Rowlands, Luke Phillips and Alex Kalafusz were all on target as second-place Bontnewydd banked the points at Cae Stanley.
Caergybi 4 Llangoed and District 1
Goals from Tom Hadley (2, 1 penalty), Nik Kontodios and Craig Moore sealed the win for Caergybi at Millbank.
Daniel Owen was Llangoed’s sole marksman.
CPD Gaerwen 0 Llanfairpwll 2
Unbeaten Llanfairpwll kept their fine run going with victory in this local derby against a home side who gave it their all.
Rees Roberts opened the scoring on 13 minutes and substitute Cian Owen added the second after 67 from a Jay Finter assist.
Trearddur Bay 4 CPD Cefni 2
This match had special significance as Trearddur Bay striker Asa Thomas scored his 600th career goal.
Thomas had missed a penalty for the second game running before the magic moment came in the 64th minute.
Before that Cefni had been causing havoc, taking a two-goal lead after Jamie Lee Patterson struck on eight and 36 minutes.
Thomas failed from the spot before the break, but made it 2-1 before Myles Jones equalised soon after and Tom Scott completed the turnaround with Trearddur’s third goal.
For good measure, Thomas scored his 19th of the season and 601st of his career, before the end.
The story of Asa’s amazing feats have been featured extensively on Grassroots North Wales in recent days.
CPD Y Fali 1 Bethesda Rovers 4
Quite a ding-dong at Parc Mwd where Rovers returned to winning ways.
Ryan Jones, Lewis Hall, Thomas Davies and a Jason Owen own goal provided the winning total for the visitors.
Daniel Owen responded for Y Fali, who picked up three red cards.
Matthew Williams was dismissed in the game itself on 65 minutes, then after the final whistle Marc Wilson and manager Dan Jones were also shown reds.
