Colwyn Bay and Bethesda share 2022 North Wales Women’s Cricket League title

The 2022 North Wales Women’s Cricket League title has been shared.
Bethesda and Colwyn Bay both finished on the same number of points and are declared as joint champions.

Pesda lifted the inaugural crown in 2021 with a 100 per cent record of 11 straight wins, but this year they were given a much harder battle, Colwyn Bay leading the way.
The joint title-winners both lost just twice over the season, once to each other. Bay beat Pesda away on July 11 and the Ogwen girls gained revenge the night after at Penrhyn Avenue.

Colwyn Bay do not just have a joint league title to show for this season – they also won the Welsh Cup Hundred-Ball Plate competition in Bridgend.

The league’s top run-scorer for 2022 is Colwyn Bay’s Hannah Kennedy with 313 and a massive average of 73.25, while Hannah Jones of Bethesda is second on 207.
And Hannah Kennedy is also the leading wicket-taker with 19, while Emma Jones of Bethesda finished second on 13.
The idea of a top-two play-off with the league title at stake was discussed, but organisers ran out of time to find a suitable date and venue and Bethesda and Colwyn Bay both agreed the championship be shared.
