Brymbo 2nd XI (15) 34-0 Abergele 2nd XI (0) 33-10

Leaders Brymbo seconds will rarely have an easier – or quicker – win.

Visitors Abergele seconds won the toss and chose to bat, but were dismantled for just 33 runs in 18.2 overs.

Wayne Smith took 5-16, Ross Roberts 3-1 and Jordan Williams 2-15 for the Steelmen.

Brymbo took just 25 balls to reach 34-0 and seal a 15-0 victory.

The entire match lasted just 22-and-a-half overs.

Buckley 2nd XI (15) 380-6 Ruthin 2nd XI (0) 135-9

By contrast to what occurred at Brymbo, there was a deluge of runs at Lane End – from the home side at least.

Third-place Buckley seconds piled up a mammoth 380-6 off 40 overs, Mike Wooton hitting 92, skipper Alex Storey 76, Johnny Hewitt 72 not out and wicket-keeper Sam Hughes 64.

Amidst the carnage, Ruthin’s Simon Harrison took a highly respectable 3-37 off seven overs.

Opener and captain Alun Jones posted 72 in Ruthin’s response of 147-9, Harry Sprowell 3-7 and Wooton 3-31 for the home team.

Gwersyllt Park 2nd XI (14) 185-6 Connah’s Quay 2nd XI (1) 99-10

Michael Griffiths (52 not out), Jack Watkins (41) and Mike Griffiths (37 no) helped Gwersyllt produce a winning total, Dale Jones 3-37 and Matthew Dix 2-18 for the Deeside visitors.

Quay were bowled out for 99 in reply, Jake Chare 35, Graeme Bell 5-34 and Michael Griffiths 4-14 from nine for the hosts.

Mynydd Isa and Maeshafn (15) 0-0 Pwllheli 2nd XI (-15) 0-0

Pwllheli conceded.

Sunday, July 17

Bethesda 2nd XI (14) 62-3 Conwy 2nd XI (1) 60-10

Dylan Hughes (3-9), Sopan Patil (3-13) and Jamie Savage (2-4 off 9 overs) did the main damage as visitors Conwy seconds were dismissed for 60.

Bethesda seconds reached 62-3 in 14.4 overs for a 14-1 win.


Bersham 2nd XI (12) 80-10 Llandudno 2nd XI (3) 66-10

Despite Hannah Thornton landing a senior career best 6-41 for Llandudno seconds, Bersham seconds made enough runs to win the game.

The nine-man hosts were all out for 80, Rishan Fernando playing the most important innings of 35.

Tudno were skittled out for just 66 in reply, Bersham’s Sujeesh Vazhadan picking up 3-12, Dafydd Williams 2-5 and Lewis Derwent 2-9.

Dolgellau 2nd XI (12) 0-0 Carmel and District 2nd XI (-15) 0-0

Carmel seconds conceded.

Llanrwst 2nd XI (12) 98-6 Hawarden Park 3rd XI (3) 96-10

Jack Parry starred with bat and ball as Llanrwst seconds earned a welcome win over Hawarden Park thirds at Parc Gwydir.

Put in, the Park were all out for 96, Kenneth Evans 32, Jack Parry 3-17, Dewi Parry 2-10, Daniel Jones 2-23 and Robert Parry 2-25.

The Rwsters got home on 98-6 off 21 overs, Jack Parry 34 not out, Theo Williams 25, Jamie Leek scooping 2-21 for Hawarden.
