Liverpool Competition – Jack Parry makes maiden ton as Colwyn Bay celebrate a 50-point weekend

1st XI First Division

Colwyn Bay (25) 238-8 dec Bootle (6) 155-10

Jack Parry scored a career best 111 and registered his maiden ton for a Colwyn Bay side which celebrated a season’s double over fallen giants Bootle at Penrhyn Avenue.

Parry was by far Bay’s top contributor in an innings of 238-8 declared off 55 overs after they were put into bat.

Zack Gidlow (26) shared an opening stand of 76 with the former Llay Welfare star, who also represents Wales NC North.

Former Northop Hall player Joshua Andrady took 3-55 for the Merseyside men.

Andrady top-scored with 54 as Bootle were then dismissed for 155, Patrick Glover nabbing 3-29, Paul Jenkins 3-54 and Arthur Jones 2-17.

Northop Hall (7) 228-9 Liverpool (9) 252-5

Hall hung on for a losing draw at home to Liverpool.

The visitors won the toss and batted, piling up 252-5 off 55 overs, Alex Harper 76 and Jared Clein 57 not out, Dhanosh Kaludewa picking up 3-74 and Joshua Leach 2-64 for the hosts.

Struggling at 79-4 in reply, the Hall innings improved and they ended on 228-9 off 58 overs.

Alex Smith made 48, Carwyn Johnson 46, Ben Slater 36 and Joshua Leach 35, Daniel Clubbe 3-73 for the visitors, who claimed the better of the points 9-7.

1st XI Second Division

In a high scoring draw at Beach Close, Prestatyn finished up six short of victory but also only one wicket away from defeat.

Sutton called the coin correctly and elected to bat, notching 222-8 declared off 54 overs, Jack York 55, Sheil Sethi 2-21 and Kieron Tidswell 2-26 for the home side.

Prestatyn’s response ended on 217-9 off 48, Sethi starring with 101, his second first team century.

Sampath Perera added 50, the Sri Lankan and Sethi sharing in a second-wicket stand of 122.

Prestatyn were on course at 194-2, but then a dramatic collapse left them clinging on for the draw, Alex Oldfield 5-79.

2nd XI Premier Division

Orrell Red Triangle (5) 110-10 Colwyn Bay (25) 211-7 dec

Dan Russell led the batting chart with 47 as Bay seconds posted a victory total at ORT.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, the visitors set 211-7 declared off 45 overs, Harry Spillane (35), Thomas Omelia (31 no) and Shaun Davies (29) all adding useful efforts.

Jamie Moorhouse collected 5-39, Shay Williams 3-29 and James Jones 2-17 as Bay rolled the hosts over for 110 and sealed a 25-5 points success.

2nd XI First Division

2nd XI Second Division

Alder (25) 146-6 Prestatyn (6) 140-9
