North Wales League Division One – Denbigh, Halkyn and Hawarden keep 100% records

Sam Lewis scored a half-ton and took four wickets as part of a fine team performance which saw Denbigh make it a magnificent seven wins in seven matches.

The Division One leaders chose to bat and amassed an excellent 242-5 off 45 overs, Darren Nixon (64) and Sam Lewis (55) sharing in an opening stand of 120.

Andy Clarke (53 not out) and skipper Thomas Schrimshaw (40) then put on another 66 for the fourth wicket.

Bangor 2nds were limited to 161-8 in reply, Christopher Dawson posting 48, while for the visitors, Sam Lewis scooped 4-24 and Andy Clarke 2-27.

Abergele (13) 160-10 Buckley (2) 91-10

Skipper Ben Garnett made a top-score of 64 in Abergele’s winning total of 160 at Pentre Mawr Park.

After putting the opposition in, Buckley will have been relatively pleased to restrict them to a modest tally, especially impressive bowlers William Norman (4-17 off nine overs) and Jack Whitley (4-22). Jack Gibson was also responsible for two run-outs.

However, when it was Bucks’ turn to bat, they really under-achieved, being bowled out for 91 with William Norman the best of the bunch hitting 36.

David Moulson picked up 4-27 and Lewis Tolond 3-25 for victorious Gele.

Dolgellau (13) 226-3 Connah’s Quay (2) 171-10

Jack Williamson struck a maiden ton as Dolgellau celebrated a home success over the Quay.

Williamson made 100 not out in a home effort of 226-3 off 45 overs, fellow opener Stuart Evans contributing 48 in a first-wicket partnership of 92.

Connah’s Quay were bowled out for 171, opener and skipper Tom Hooson standing out with 53.

Morgan Yorke led the way for Dol with 4-13, Sam Williams snaring 3-19.

Gwersyllt Park (2) 140-10 Conwy (13) 194-8

Skipper Jonathon Davies led the charge with 48 as Conwy’s total proved more than enough to deliver victory.

Opener Llywelyn Cowell added 45 as the visitors posted 194-8 after electing to bat, Iroshan De Silva pocketing an excellent 3-13 off nine overs for the Park.

Gwersyllt were all back in the hutch for 140, Dafydd Millington 31, Guto Davies 3-26, Calum Jones 3-32 and Patrick Jelley 3-35 for the visitors.

Llanrwst (2) 98-10 Hawarden Park (13) 100-5

Michael Wootton picked up a superb 5-21 as Hawarden rolled over Llanrwst for just 98 at Gwydir Park.

Adam De Rycke notched 2-17 and James Martin 2-26 as the Rwsters were made to pay for opting to bat, opener Trefor Williams 34 and Alwyn Williams 29.

The away side maintained their 100 percent record by arriving at 100-5 in 34.5, Phil Bradfield 33, Rhys Johnson 25 no, Alwyn Williams 3-30 for the hosts.

Marchwiel and Wrexham (0) 53-10 Halkyn (15) 54-0

Skipper Ben Roberts bagged an outstanding 5-15 as Halkyn maintained their perfect start to the season.

The hosts won the toss and chose to bat, collapsing to 53 all out Muhammad Bajwa (2-5) and Jamie Griffiths (2-11) providing good back-up for Roberts.

Halkyn eased to 54 without loss in 12.3, Roberts 22 no and Gareth Fox 21 no for a 15-0 whitewash.
