Mountain Rangers sit top of the Lucas Oil Anglesey League table and remain unbeaten after a 9-1 thrashing of Llandegfan at Rhosgadfan on Saturday afternoon.
Sam Williams netted another three goals to remain leading scorer in the league with 17.
Two of the squad’s younger players, Rhys Wynne and Cian Davies-Hughes, both scored twice and there was also a goal apiece for captain Simon Kay (penalty) and Terry Watkinson. Rob Boyes netted Llandegfan’s consolation.
All money taken on the gate and at the cafe on the day went to a fund set up to help local footballer Danny Gosset in his battle against cancer.
Mountain Rangers v Llandegfan was the only Anglesey League game played on Saturday, with many of the other teams involved in the NWCFA Junior Cup.
CPD Y Fali triumphed 5-2 at Penrhyn Bay Dragons to advance to the next round, Bodorgan put up a great fight at Abergele before losing out on penalties following a 4-4 draw against the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League high-flyers, Holyhead Hotspur Reserves went out 5-3 at holders Bro Goronwy after a superb battle, Cefni were defeated 4-2 at home by Llansannan, Cemaes Bay lost 3-1 at Nefyn United and Pentraeth Reserves went down 3-0 at home to Llandudno Athletic.
Holyhead Town Reserves gave it their all but lost 5-3 to Bethesda Athletic, so of the seven Anglesey League sides involved in the cup on Saturday, only Valley advanced.
