North Wales Cricket League Divisions 2-4: Weigh ton in Buckley seconds victory, Pwllheli edge home at Denbigh

NORTH WALES CRICKET LEAGUE REPORTS DIVISION 2, 3 AND 4 – JUNE 20-21

DIVISION TWO
Denbigh 2nd XI (4) 155-10 Pwllheli 1st XI (11) 159-9

Pwllheli edged a one-wicket victory in a tight encounter at Ystrad Road on Saturday.
Calling the coin correctly and deciding batting was the best course of action, Denbigh seconds posted 155 all out, Joe Threlfall their chief contributor with 56, while for Pwll, Omar Aftab took 2-24, Kallim Al Baloshi 2-28 and Ioan Roberts 2-29.
The visitors looked in good shape at 99-3 in reply, but wickets kept falling regularly enough to make it interesting, Hari Glyn Williams making 30.
Pwllheli’s ninth wicket went down on 149 meaning last pair Adam Williams and Aftab needed seven with ample overs in hand.
And the final duo made the winning post at 159-9, Williams ending 32 not out and Aftab 17 no to clinch an 11-4 points splot which means Pwll nudge into second just a point behind Carmel.
Dolgellau 1st XI (1) 104-10 Menai Bridge 2nd XI (14) 194-10
Staring down the barrel at a potential surprise defeat when 66-5, Menai Bridge recovered to set a winning total at The Marian in a Sunday afternoon contest.
Electing to bat, the Bridge found themselves five down for not very many before David Owen (43) and skipper Andrew Wannop (31) helped turn the tables.
The Anglesey visitors finished strongly on 194 all out, Jaco Ooosthuizen 2-16, James Conde 2-24 and Robert Humphreys 2-38 for the hosts.
Bottom side Dolgellau were then bowled out for 107, wicket-keeper Ayush Sharma hitting a defiant 67, while for the visitors, Liam Bibby took 2-15, Lewis Foran 2-22 and Wannop 2-27.
Brymbo 2nd XI (15) 212-7 Llanrwst 1st XI (0) 104-10
Half-tons from Jamie Beale and Adam De Rycke did most to ensure Brymbo seconds chalked up a match-winning score at the SSC.
Opener Beale made 56 and De Rycke 51 in a home total of 212-7 off 40 overs, Aron Hughes 2-36 and Nic Bould 2-37 for the Rwsters.
In reply, opener Hughes made 53 for the visitors, but no-one else could manage double figures as the Conwy Valley outfit plummeted to 104 all out.
Sion Edwards produced impressive figures of 4-20, De Rycke 2-24 as the Steelmen collected maximum points.
Carmel & District 1st XI (4) 130-10 Gwersyllt Park 2nd XI (11) 143-10

Leaders Carmel remain top despite suffering a home defeat at the hands of Gwersyllt Park seconds.
Gareth Fox led the charge with 47 as Gwersyllt were dismissed for 143 after opting for first knock, Ralf Fernando 3-34, Oliver Saynor 2-4 off 5 and Jagath Magulagama 2-18 for the villagers.
Carmel were then sent packing for 130, Liam Lynes a superb 5-28 for the visitors, Owais Saeed 3-25, while Fernando did best for the hosts with 38.
Corwen 1st XI (12) 187-6 Marchwiel and Wrexham 1st XI (3) 184-7
Corwen won a close one by four wickets at the War Memorial Park.
Invited to bat, Marchwiel and Wrexham set 184-7 off 40 overs, Chris Woodcock 42 and Sam Heard Edwards 30, Simon Harrison 2-26, Iwan Lloyd 2-28 and Steff Lloyd 2-40 for the hosts, who reached 187-6 off 38.2, skipper William Pooler 36, Tom King 33 not out, Gareth Evans pocketing 3-34 and Charlie Gooding 2-41 for the travelling side.

DIVISION THREE
Bethesda 2nd XI (4) 157-6 Clwb Criced Caernarfon (11) 158-8
Caernarfon ground out a two-wicket win with four balls to spare at Parc Villa.
Inserted by the opposition, Pesda posted 157-6, Dale Davies best with 45 not out, Llyr Erddyn Davies 2-18 and Monis Altaf 2-29 for the visitors.
Caernarfon hit back with 158-8 off 39.2, Dipin Varghese making 42 and Altaf 38, Paul Gower and Davies seeing the Cofis over the line, Richard Lee Williams 2-26 and Dylan Hughes 2-29 for the hosts.
Buckley 2nd XI (15) 190-1 Abergele 2nd XI (0) 188-7

Youngster Harry Weigh made the second century of his senior career to guide Buckley seconds to a big win at home to Abergele seconds.
Weigh finished 101 not out as Bucks reached 190-1 in response to the visiting team’s effort of 188-7.
Gele chose to bat and were unfortunate in that they set a good total but ended up with no points.
David Holmes was 60 not out and Bibin John made 42, Harry Sprowell 2-20 and Tom Pool 2-29 for the Flintshire hosts.
Bucks reached their target in just 24.5 overs, Weigh’s ton comprising 18 fours and a six, Sprowell adding 43 no and Samuel Jones 34.
Hawarden Park 2nd XI (14) 114-3 Halkyn 2nd XI (1) 111-10
Skipper Gareth Thomas made 40 as Halkyn seconds were dismissed for a modest 111, Cethin Eunson 3-19 and Craig Wilson 2-27 for Hawarden Park seconds, who made a winning 114-3 off 30.2, captain Christopher Brooks 53 not out, Wilson 42 no, Harri Sigsworth 2-33 for the away side.
Mold 2nd XI (2) 181-5 Conwy 2nd XI (13) 183-4
Opener Wes Gillam’s superb effort of 79 not out was not enough to bring his Mold seconds team victory at Chester Road.
Winning the toss and opting to bat, the home team struck 181-6 off 40, Gillam topping the chart with his fine innings which included 11 fours, Gareth Davies adding 37, Subhan Khan 2-45 for Conwy, who responded with a victorious 183-4 off 36.3.
Khan top-scored with 51, captain Philip Davies contributing an unbeaten 34, Stuart Watkins 33 and David Wilkinson 31 no, Thomas Garratt 2-41 for the home team.
Pontblyddyn 2nd XI (1) 110-10 Bersham 1st XI (14) 114-2
Runaway leaders Bersham made it 10 wins in 10 starts and required just 12.4 overs to reach a match-clinching score of 114-2 after they had blown away Pontblyddyn seconds for 110.
Skipper Nick Thomas shone brightest for Pont with 30, Vipin Shylajan 4-25 and Shins Varghese 3-15 for the visitors, for whom Noufal Khader wasted no time in smashing an unbeaten 78 not out to seal the result.
Ruthin 1st XI (3) 97-10 Connah’s Quay 2nd XI (12) 98-7
Lee Davies (2-8), Sheikh Sabbir (2-10) and Jack Griffiths (2-20) helped Quay dismiss Ruthin for just 97, Jamie Hughes 30, and the Deesiders got home on 98-7 in reply, Jonas Roberts 3-20 and Harry Edwards 3-28 for the losing team.

Bersham 2nd XI (4) 197-10 Brymbo 3rd XI (11) 214-9
Visitors Brymbo thirds rustled up a winning 214-9, skipper Charlie Croasdale 45, Ioan Craven-Jones 34 and Owain Pryce 32, Anvesh Podicheti 3-35 and Vishak Vattakkavil 2-37 for Bersham seconds, whose response fell gallantly short on 197 all out, Muhammed Faisal 41 and Vattakkabvil 33, Sam Manning 4-19 off eight and Adam Smith 2-21 for the Steelmen.
Hawarden Park 3rd XI (1) 57-10 Clwb Criced Y Bala (14) 60-3
Amrith Anil (3-16), Will Bell (2-2) and Tomos Hodges (2-7) did most to ensure Hawarden were skittled out for 57 off 36.5 painstaking overs, then Bala eased to 60-3, new signing Nathan Aldridge 22 not out, Jo Robinson 2-27 for the hosts.
Llandudno 2nd XI (3) 102-10 Northop 3rd XI (12) 150-6
Felix Skeffington was leading run-getter with 39 as Northop thirds produced a score of 150-6 off 40 at The Oval, Anthony Edwards 3-26 for the home side, who were blasted out for 102, Aidan Kelly 38, Wayne Totty best for the visitors with 3-15, Eshan Patel 2-4 and Dam Griffiths 2-11.
Llanrwst 2nd XI (13) 160-4 Carmel & District 2nd XI (2) 94-10
Stefan Horan dominated with 88 not out in Llanrwst seconds’ winning effort of 160-4, Carmel seconds slumping to 94 all out in their response, Gethin Adams 2-15, David Wright 2-21 and Osian Gerallt 2-32.
Marchwiel and Wrexham 2nd XI (13) 104-4 Ruthin 2nd XI (2) 103-6

After opting to bat, Ruthin seconds could only muster 103-6 off their 40 overs, Mike Lee 2-13 for Marchwiel and Wrexham seconds, who secured a 13-2 points split by making 104-4, Lee 40, Ian Goldston 2-35.
Pwllheli 2nd XI (0) 74-10 Gresford 2nd XI (15) 201-6
Harry Parker (51 not out), captain Gez Jones (33) and Sam Burke (31) combined to lead Gresford seconds to a total of 201-6, Nico Jones 2-40 for Pwllheli seconds, who were bamboozled for 74, Daniel Jones an exceptional 6-24 for the Division Four leaders.
