Northop Hall 1st XI (3) 108-10 Colwyn Bay 1st XI (20) 112-5
Colwyn Bay’s season came alive against ideal opponents as they put paid to leaders Northop Hall’s early run of three victories on Saturday.
After failing to register a win in their first three matches, the Bay got off the mark with a five-wicket success in Saturday’s North Wales derby at Smithy Lane.
Hall won the toss and batted, but despite the top five all getting starts no-one was able to go on and make a substantial score.

The hosts were bowled out for just 108 in 33.1 overs, new-ball bowler Jack Parry registering his second-best figures for the first team of 6-53 off 17, while Charlie Collins scooped 3-9.
Jac Kennedy (23) and Christian Jardine (20) were the home team’s top contributors.

In reply, Colwyn Bay plummeted to 35-5 and looked to be heading for defeat, but sixth-wicket pair Collins (44 not out) and Luke Russell (37 no) put on an unbroken 77 to win the match.
The visitors finished on 112-5 off 32.4 to seal a 20 points to five victory.
For Hall, Paul Jenkins claimed an excellent 3-28 from 14 against his former club, while paceman Carwyn Johnson picked up 2-51.
