Ardal North East: A day CPD Llanuwchllyn will never forget

LOCK STOCK ARDAL NORTH EAST LEAGUE – SATURDAY, APRIL 25
CPD Llanuwchllyn 3 (I Hughes, M Williams 2)
Kerry 0
They took the field as champions, they played like champions and then they were officially crowned champions.
It was a day no-one associated with CPD Llanuwchllyn will ever forget as the village club received the 2025-26 Tier 3 Ardal North East championship trophy.
And Sion Tudor’s side marked the occasion in style with a 3-0 win over Kerry, having already been confirmed as title winners on April 11 after thrashing Builth Wells 7-1 at Cae Llan.
This success confirms the club’s promotion to Tier 2 Cymru North for the first time, having heartbreakingly lost out in the play-off final in the previous two seasons.
And to add even further gloss to the day, Llanuwchllyn’s star striker Meilir Williams also reached 50 goals for the season in all competitions.
Captain Ilan Hughes’ 21st minute goal was all that separated the sides at half time.
It remained 1-0 until the 73rd minute when Williams made it a half century, benefiting from an Aled Parry assist.
And the icing on the cake was applied in the 91st minute when Williams made it 3-0, Will Owen this time the supplier.
