After three double-figure victories, Wrexham Foresters were given their first league test, but it took a Berriew Development side packed with Tier 2 first team regulars to challenge them.
And despite this, the Foresters still prevailed 5-2 to remain top of the table with four straight wins.
Anna Thomas and Louise Wilson struck in the first half to give the visitors a 2-0 interval lead.
A Gemma Jones penalty early in the second half got Berriew on the scoreboard, but top-scorer Kirstie Kural soon made it 3-1 from a Thomas assist.
The hosts trimmed the deficit to one again with a 58th minute second goal via Hannah Richards, but Kural then came into her own to complete another hat-trick with strikes on 64 and 79, Thomas and Laura Evans setting up the chances.
Kural has yet to fail to score at least three goals in a game this season, he sequence of 3-8-4-4-3 and 3 putting her on 25 from six appearances.
With a Welsh Cup tie against Adran North side Flint Town United on the horizon, a test of Sunday’s magnitiude will probably benefit the Foresters.
