1ST XI ECB PREMIER LEAGUE
Ormskirk 1st XI (7) 138-6 Colwyn Bay 1st XI (6) 182-10
Sion Morris made a vintage half-century which helped Colwyn Bay earn a battling draw at Premier League leaders Ormskirk.
Morris, who is closing in on 15,000 LDCC runs for the Bay, made 63 in Saturday’s tussle at Altys Lane which saw the visitors put into bat and post 182 all out off 46.4 overs.
The former skipper and Wales international struck 12 fours in his 68-ball effort, with Will Higginson adding 33, while Jamie Barnes snapped up 5-41 for the hosts.
With weather interruptions lessening hopes of a result, Ormskirk batsmen went after everything in reply but also lost wickets.
By the close they were 138-6 off just 16 overs, Sagar Trivedi collecting 4-50 off seven for the visitors.
1ST XI SECOND DIVISION
Northop Hall 1st XI (20) 116-3 Southport Trinity 1st XI (2) 114-10
Veteran left-arm spinner Paul Jenkins is up to what appears to be a career best 83 league wickets in a season after claiming 6-45 in Northop Hall’s beating of Southport Trinity.
The 53-year-old, who returned to Smithy Lane this season after a 23-year absence, bagged his ninth five-wicket haul of 2025 as the hosts dismissed Trinity, who were put into bat, for 114.
Carwyn Johnson and James Hurlin both picked up 2-32 for Hall. who in response reached 116-3 off just 18.2, Johnson 35 and Matty Jones 32 no.
Northop Hall remain second in the Second Division table with three rounds of matches to go and a 36-point lead over the third-place club. The top two sides are promoted.
Wavertree 1st XI (6) 158-10 Prestatyn 1st XI (5) 83-8
Skipper Adam Tidswell pocketed 6-64 as Prestatyn bowled out Wavertree for 158.
The North Wales side clung on for a losing draw at 83-8.
2ND XI FIRST DIVISION
Colwyn Bay 2nd XI (20) 61-5 New Brighton 2nd XI (2) 59-10
Shay Williams notched a career best 7-27 as Bay seconds rolled over New Brighton’s batting line up for just 59 at Penrhyn Avenue.
Samuel Costley bagged 3-2, the away innings lasting just 23.1 overs.
Second-place Bay remain well on course for promotion back to the Premier after making it to 61-5 to seal a 20-2 points success, Will Spillane 30 not out.
Spring View 2nd XI (6) 174-7 dec Northop Hall 2nd XI (6) 142-5
Thomas Doggett made a crucial 54 for the Hall seconds side which earned a draw at Spring View.
The hosts scored 174-7 declared off 50, Matteo Evans-Ford 2-33, Robbie Edwards 2-34 and James Southern 2-39.
Hall finished on 142-5 off 24, Doggett’s half ton well supported by Liam Evans-Ford (39 no).
2ND XI SECOND DIVISION
Prestatyn 2nd XI (2) 81-10 Maghull 2nd XI (25) 180-2 dec
Jamie Breakwell scored 113 not out as Maghull declared on an imposing 183-2 declared at Beach Close and Prestatyn seconds were all out for 81 in reply, Steven Edwards 39, Danny Feeney 6-40 for the Liverpool side.
