Colwyn Bay are now 34 points from safety with five matches left to save themselves in the Premier League after Saturday’s loss at high-riding Northern.

The Merseyside hosts won the toss and batted, piling up 254-5 declared off 49 overs, prolific left-hander Tyler McGladdery scoring 113 and Chris Laker 63.

For the Bay, Sagar Trivedi took an impressive 2-22 off nine overs, while Matt Russell claimed 2-62.

In reply, the visitors were all out for 168, Dan Russell 30, Tomas Sephton a remarkable 8-48 for the 25-5 points winners from Crosby.

1ST X1 SECOND DIVISION

Caldy 1st XI (25) 67-2 Prestatyn 1st XI (1) 62-10

After electing to bat, Prestatyn were blown away for just 62 at Paton Field and Caldy eased to 67-2 in just 15.1 overs to seal an eight-wicket success, Benjamin Hughes 2-28 for the Welsh side.

Northop Hall 1st XI (20) 72-2 Fleetwood Hesketh 1st XI (1) 71-10

Second-place Northop Hall kept their promotion bid bubbling with an eight-wicket triumph which gives them a 40-point buffer to the next club below.

Opting to field, the hosts sent Fleetwood packing for just 72, Paul Jenkins collecting his eighth five-wicket haul of the season, a return of 5-20 off 14 overs putting him on 72 victims in 2025.

Carwyn Johnson bagged 3-45 and James Hurlin 2-3 off 5.3.

Hall reached a winning 72-2 off 18.1 overs, Matthew Jones 28 not out, sealing a 20-1 points verdict.

2ND XI FIRST DIVISION

Colwyn Bay 2nd XI (9) 219-2 dec Highfield 2nd XI (5) 154-9

Bay seconds dropped out of the promotion slots after they could not quite finish off visitors Highfield at Penrhyn Avenue.

First team regular Zack Gidlow struck 102 not out, Sam Costley was unbeaten on 69 and Zane Roy hit 33 as the hosts smashed 219-2 declared off 35 overs.

Despite James Jones taking 5-35 and Shay Williams 3-36, Highfield were able to cling on for the draw at 154-9, number seven bat Lee Martinus a visiting hero with 59.

Orrell Red Triangle 2nd XI (8) 168-10 Northop Hall 2nd XI (8) 135-8

Liam Evans-Ford snapped up 4-38, Robbie Edwards 3-41 and Matteo Evans-Ford 2-49 as Northop Hall seconds dismissed the hosts for 168, but in reply the Flintshire side had to see the game out for a draw, ending on 135-8, opener Hollie Sigsworth 32, Adam Jenkins 30 not out.

2ND XI SECOND DIVISION

Prestatyn 2nd XI (1) 60-10 Sutton St Helens 2nd XI (25) 201-3

Ben Williams took 2-59 for Prestatyn seconds, whose attack came in for some hammer as visitors Sutton amassed 201-3 declared off 39 overs, then the hosts were blasted out for a paltry 60, Niladri Dutta a defiant 34, Liam Dodd 7-25 for the Merseyside team.
