CRICKET: North Wales League Div 2-4: Nissanka stars for Carmel, Buckley triumph again

DIVISION TWO

Buckley (13) 132-5 Menai Bridge 2nd XI (2) 127-10
Chris Geary’s unbeaten half-century helped guide Buckley to another victory which put them 18 points clear at the summit.
Jack Whitley claimed 4-26 and Ollie Fellows 3-20 as the hosts dismissed Menai Bridge seconds, who elected to bat, for 127.
Geary finished 50 not out as the Bucks reached 132-5 in just 17.2 overs, Rocco Franco adding 29, Leo Hughes 2-11 for the Anglesey side.
Carmel & District (12) 162-10 Ruthin (3) 116-10

All-round hero Maneesha Ayomal Nissanka (68) and Gwion Dafydd (38) made the key scores as Carmel posted a winning total of 162 all out.
Akinda Abeysinghe (4-13), Jonas Roberts (2-2) and Reece Prescott (2-14) shared the bulk of the wickets for Ruthin, who were bowled out in reply for 116, Nissanka completing a fantastic all-round display with 5-14.
Corwen (4) 110-10 Abergele (11) 133-10
Abergele may have feared their modest score of 133 all out would not be sufficient to bring them victory, but the visitors did end up the winners.
Gwil Lloyd Jones dominated with 61 in Gele’s effort, William Pooler nabbing 4-13, Steff Lloyd 2-22 and Will Roberts 2-28 for Corwen, who were then skittled out for just 110, Tom King 40, David Moulson 4-12 off eight, Sanjo Kuttan 2-17 and Ranjith Thozhuthingal 2-26 for the Pentre Mawr Park men.
Marchwiel and Wrexham (3) 117-10 Llanrwst (12) 154-10
Aron Hughes led the way with 76 as Llanrwst celebrated an impressive result at Marchwiel Hall.
The visitors elected to bat and were all removed for 154 off 34.1, Hughes hitting eight fours and a six in his match-winning innings, Stefan Horan adding 30, Sam Shoemark and Muhammad Ghufran both 2-23 for the hosts.
Marchwiel and Wrexham were then sent packing for 117, Robert Parry 4-29, Alwyn Williams 3-18 and Hughes 2-16 for the Conwy Valley side.
Pontblyddyn 2nd XI (1) 92-10 Pwllheli (14) 94-2

Kartik Bhardwaj was the star bowler with 5-26 as Pwllheli rolled over Pontblyddyn for a paltry 92 at Alder Meadow.
Mohsin Khan scooped 3-8 off eight and Ioan Roberts 2-9 from 6.2 in a fine all-round bowling show from the visitors.
Pwll eased to 94-2 off 16.3, Craig Edwards hitting nine fours and a six in his 58 not out.

Llay Welfare (12) 160-6 St Asaph 2nd XI (3) 159-9
Skipper David North made 41 and Russell Moore 37 as Saints concocted 159-9 at Dodleston, Tom Davies 2-12, Mike Wright and Jack Honey both 2-16 for the Wrexham hosts.
Llay got home on 160-6 with three balls to spare, Davies 39 not out, Honey 35, Mike Thompson 2-19 and Moore 2-38 for Saints.
DIVISION THREE

Abergele 2nd XI (1) 127-9 Clwb Criced Caernarfon (14) 130-3
Monis Altaf’s half-ton did most to get Caernarfon over the winning line at Pentre Mawr Park.
David Holmes top-scored with 45 as Gele, invited to bat, cobbled together 127-9 off 40 overs, Ian Morgan 3-10 and Llyr Erddyn Davies 2-15 for the Cofis.
In response, Caernarfon made 130-3 in 26.2, Altaf recording 51.
Conwy 2nd XI (2) 162-6 Denbigh 2nd XI (13) 163-5
Leaders Denbigh seconds registered a five-wicket success at Bodlondeb.
Toby Watson was chief contributor with 66 as Conwy seconds set 162-6, Ciaran Lucas 3-38 for the visitors, who hit back with 163-5 off 38.3, Darren Nixon 63, Bailey Davies 2-25 for the hosts.
Gresford 2nd XI (2) 114-10 Mold 2nd XI (13) 115-4
Craig Roberts (41) and George Jones (35) helped second-place Mold to a winning 115-4 off 27.2, Tom Williams with 2-16 for Gresford, who had earlier been bowled out for 114, Sam Burke 48 not out, Oliver Jones 3-16, Keith Embleton 2-13 and Roberts 2-17 for the travellers.
Gwersyllt Park 2nd XI (15) 201-10 Buckley 2nd XI (0) 73-10
Maximum points for Gwersyllt Park seconds, thanks largely to Lee Beer (65), Matthew Jones (49) and Ted Pearson (35) in compiling a total of 201 all out, Harry Sprowell 4-34 and Tom Pool 2-36 for Buckley seconds, who were blown away in response for 73, Ben Griffiths 5-6 off 4.1, Michael Griffiths 3-27.
Hawarden Park 2nd XI (15) 193-2 Bethesda 2nd XI (0) 57-10
A commanding display from Hawarden Park seconds, opener Jared Bennett hitting 96 not out and Daniel Lodge 64 no in a challenging effort of 193-2 off 40, Bethesda seconds then perishing to 57 all out, Robert Goodwin 4-16, Owen Ford 3-12 and Lodge 2-13 for the 15-0 winners..
Llandudno 2nd XI (4) 204-5 Bersham (11) 205-9
Close one at The Oval where Bersham triumphed by one wicket off the final ball.
Tudno were put in and amassed a useful 204-5 off 40, Jake Sumbland 62 and Andrew Christian 58, Noulfal Khader 2-33 for the visitors, who finished on 205-9 from 40, openers Sathyajith Ihalagama making 68 and Khader 43 respectively before wickets began to topple.
Santhu Kj (31) and number nine Sindo Mathew (21 no) saw the Colliers past the post, Hannah Thornton 4-23 and David Barlow 3-28 for the hosts.

Bersham 2nd XI (15) Carmel & District 2nd XI (-15) – Carmel conceded
Clwb Criced Y Bala (1) 125-7 Brymbo 3rd XI (14) 126-2
Brymbo thirds limited Bala to 125-7, Will Bell 45, Terry Jones 2-33 for the Steelmen, who then reached 126-2, skipper Gareth Parry 47 and Anthony Savage 38 not out.
Dolgellau 2nd XI (1) 192-3 Marchwiel and Wrexham 2nd XI (14) 195-3
Despite setting a decent 192-3, Dolgellau seconds could not prevent Marchwiel and Wrexham seconds romping to a seven-wicket win at The Marian.
Anup Menon was the star for the hosts with 119 not out, striking 12 boundaries and four maximums, but the visitors raced to 195-3 off just 25.2, Mike Lee 77 not out, Michael Forgrave 37 and Zahid Sharif 36 not out, Tomi Slattery 3-63 for the hosts.
Llanrwst 2nd XI (1) 119-8 Connah’s Quay 2nd XI (14) 198-6
Cole Hooson hit a commanding 113 in Quay’s match-winning total of 198-6, Gaz Jones producing a very commendable 2-18 off eight for Llanrwst seconds, who were restricted to 119-8, catptain Aled Hughes 70, Nathan Gregory 3-7 off six and Chris Boden 2-24 for the Deesiders.
Pwllheli 2nd XI (2) 84-10 Halkyn 2nd XI (13) 89-4
Ryan Ferguson collected a miserly 3-5 off eight as Pwllheli seconds were blasted out for just 84, Tony Green 2-10 and Sam Hamilton 2-26 also for the visitors, who sealed the match with 86-4 off 17, Hamilton 36 no, Jac Rhent 2-12 for the home team.
Ruthin 2nd XI (14) 210-4 Hawarden Park 3rd XI (1) 129-7
Hosts Ruthin seconds amassed 210-4 off 40, Eshaan Pasha 57, skipper Alun Jones 48 no and Ieuan Wynne Lewis 40, Jo Robinson 2-24 and Aryan Aryan 2-34 for Hawarden, who could only manage 129-7 in reply, Sion Goldston 2-17 and Ian Goldston 2-27 for the 81-run winners.
