Second-place Bethesda rounded off a great promotion-winning season in beating Hawarden by 48 runs on the DSL method in a rain-affected encounter at Moor Lane.

Pesda won the toss, elected to bat and were all out for 162 in the 45th and final over, Daniel Oshyer and Ioan Meilir Roberts both with 40, Ben Parker 31, Evan Shaw an impressive 3-12 off 6.4 for the hosts.

Chasing a revised target of 128 off 32, Park were limited to 79-4, Andrew Day 2-14 for the visitors.

Buckley (1) 159-10 Brymbo 2nd XI (14) 160-3

Bottom side Buckley were dismissed for 159, Chris Geary 57 and Ollie Fellows 41, Sion Edwards 5-25 for Brymbo seconds, who responded with a winning 162-3 off just 22 overs, Jack Williams 54 and Oliver Sheldrake 47.

Connah’s Quay (12) 218-10 Dolgellau (3) 93-6

Connah’s Quay won by 42 runs on the DSL method after Dolgellau finished on 93-6 chasing 136 to win off 22 overs. The game featured some really high-quality individual performances.

Brody Camp made 70, Joshua Clarke 52 and Darren Leach 34 as Quay were bowled out for 218 off 44.5, Jaco Ooshuizen 4-32 and Jack Williams 4-36 for the visitors.

Lafras Van Vuuren made 32 for Dolgellau, while Lee Davies took all six away wickets to fall for 32.

Conwy (15) 226-6 Pontblyddyn (0) 115-10

Daniel Davies hit 70 and Vaughan Williams 42 as Conwy finished on a high, posting a commanding 226-6, James Hughes 3-57 for the visitors, who were all removed for 115, Dave Evans 43, Graham Meredith 3-20 for the hosts.

Halkyn (13) 166-9 Abergele (2) 58-7

Put into bat, Halkyn’s effort of 166-9 was more than enough to beat Abergele, who aiming for a revised target of 112 off 25 overs, were restricted to 52-7.

Lewis Tolond claimed 2-19 for Gele, while Halkyn’s top bowlers were Graeme Settle with 5-17 off nine and Ben Roberts (2-10).

Mold (3) 130-10 Northop 2nd XI (3) 68-1 – abandoned

Champions Northop seconds looked well on their way to victory when rain abandoned play for the day at Chester Road.

Mochdre 2nd XI (15) Llay Welfare (-15) – Llay conceded

Without bowling a ball, Mochdre seconds were crowned champions with the 15 points they picked up following Llay’s concession.

This meant Mochdre’s 1st and 2nd teams won their respective divisional championships in an unforgettable season for the club.

Bersham (13) 147-9 Menai Bridge 2nd XI (2) 69-10

Bersham’s total of 147-9 off 40 overs was more than ample to see off Menai Bridge seconds, who were sent packing for just 69.

Dion Owen collected 3-31 and Phil Smith 2-6 from 7 overs for the Anglesey visitors, Bersham’s Nilanka De Silva 3-7 off 8 and Sujeesh Vazhadan 3-21.

Marchwiel and Wrexham (3) 136-10 Bangor 2nd XI (3) 68-1 – abandoned

Long-time leaders Marchwiel and Wrexham had their title hopes dashed when their home clash with Bangor seconds had to be abandoned due to rain.

Pontblyddyn 2nd XI (11) 62-9 Corwen (4) 61-10

Sion Thomas picked up 5-29 and Dylan Pearn 2-14 as Corwen were blasted out for 61 in just 15.1 overs, but Pont seconds only just scrapped home on 62-9, Steff Lloyd a season’s best 5-19.

St Asaph 2nd XI (13) 93-4 Carmel and District (2) 89-10

Nice end to the campaign for fourth-place finishers St Asaph seconds.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, Carmel were all back in the hutch for 89, Russell Moore 3-10 and Tim Cloete 2-9, then Saints hit back with 93-4 for a 13-2 verdict.

Ruthin (15) 100-1 Conwy 2nd XI (0) 99-8

Promotion for Ruthin after a maximum points verdict at home to Conwy seconds on Saturday.

Osian Roberts scooped 3-14 and Jac Evans 3-21 as the hosts limited the opposition to 99-8 off 40 overs.

Jac Evans then cracked 62 not out off 35 balls, including four fours and two sixes, as Ruthin reached 100-1 in just 13.2 overs.

Bethesda 2nd XI (15) Halkyn 2nd XI (-15) – Halkyn 2nd XI conceded

Clwb Criced Caernarfon (14) 83-3 Buckley 2nd XI (1) 80-10

Opener Gary Mayers hit a defiant 38 as Buckley seconds were rolled over for just 80 at Coed Helen.

Rory Shaw snapped up 4-17 and Grant Peisley 2-0 off just 5 balls for Caernarfon, who responded with 83-3 off 15.5, Mohsin Khan 49 not out.

Denbigh 2nd XI (15) 38-1 Connah’s Quay 2nd XI (0) 37-10

Ifan Jones took a career best 7-16 and Ieuan Jones gathered 3-19 as Denbigh seconds blew away Connah’s Quay seconds for just 37 in 13.2 overs at Ystrad Road.

Denbigh eased to 38-1 off 5.4 to complete a 15-0 success.

DIVISION FOUR – FINAL TABLE

Hawarden Park 3rd XI (1) 75-10 Llandudno 2nd XI (14) 76-2

Shana Kelly snapped up a magnificent senior career best 5-4 as Llandudno seconds wrapped up the Division Four title with a big win at Shotton CC.

Invited to bat, Hawarden thirds were bowled out for 75, Kelly’s 5-4 off 6.2 overs well-backed by Dan Jones’ return of 3-18 from eight.

Tudno then breezed to victory and the championship, scoring 76-2 off 18.1, Dan Jones 27 no.

Corwen 2nd XI (-15) Bersham 2nd XI (15) – Corwen 2nd XI conceded

Bersham seconds will finish second after picking up the full 15 points without a ball being faced.

Carmel & District 2nd XI (12) 182-10 Marchwiel and Wrexham 2nd XI (3) 83-7

Opener, captain and wicket-keeper Shaun Wheeler topped the chart for Carmel seconds with a fine 72 in his team’s home triumph.

Caleb Spencer added 35 in a score of 182 all out, Richard Samuels 3-30 and Matthew Morris 2-15 for the visitors, who were limited to 83-7 chasing a revised target of 132 off 25 due to rain.

Brandon Williams made 32, while Carmel’s top bowlers were John Williams (3-1) and Jason Hooley (3-14).

Mynydd Isa & Maeshafn (3) 81-9 Abergele 2nd XI (12) 117-9

Moinak Pyne top-scored with 30 as Abergele seconds set 117-9 off 30 overs at Argoed, Prasad Jadhav 3-11 for the hosts, who could only muster 81-9 in reply, Rana Das 4-11 and Sebin Sebastion 3-14 for victorious Gele.
