Chirk 1st XI (20) 71-6 Forton (2) 70-10

Nick Flack claimed remarkable figures of 5-5 off 7.1 overs as Chirk took the honours in a low-scoring affair at Holyhead Road.

The hosts won the toss and put the bottom side into bat, dismissing them for just 70 in 25.5 overs.

The long-serving Flack’s analysis was his fourth best ever and finest return since his all-time BB of 7-18 at Carmel in 2014.

New-ball bowler Andrew Swarbrick picked up a very economical 3-10 from 6.

In reply, Chirk had a few stumbles in reaching 71-6 off 19 overs, but the main objective of victory was achieved.

Sentinel 3rd XI (6) 177-6 Chirk 2nd XI (20) 178-5

Another solid display brought a five-wicket victory for second-place Chirk seconds at Shrewsbury-based Sentinel thirds.

The hosts were put in and chalked up 177-6 off 30 overs, opener Asher Richards an outstanding 92, with Chirk’s leading bowler Chris Hughes scooping 3-20 off 5.

In response, the visitors made it to 178-5 off 27.2.

Opener David Lunt posted 49, skipper Dale Randall 36 and Rhys Evans added a vital 23 not out, Reuben Allen 3-43 for the hosts.

Points: Chirk seconds 20-6.
