NORTH WALES COAST LEAGUE WEST

Premier Division

CPD Penrhyndeudraeth 0 Trearddur Bay 4

Played 5, Won 5, Goals Scored 27, Goals Conceded 1 – it has been quite a start to life in the Tier 4 North Wales Coast West League Premier Division for Trearddur Bay.

The Beachboys squad for Saturday’s long trip to Penrhyndeudraeth included three of last season’s under 16’s, who have been playing well in the development team this term.

This hopefully proves the club’s decision to get the young squad up and running right.

Thomas Lennon started in midfield with James Leatherbarrow and Jake Davies both making an appearance off the bench.

The game started at some pace with Matty Reynolds putting the away side one-up as early as the seventh minute after some good work from Mel McGinness.

The lead was doubled six minutes later when Dan McGinness delivered a great ball into the box that was just out of the reach of Les Davies, but not for Joe Donovan who finished well at the back post.

Bay were now building wave on wave of attack and it was Les Davies who added a third on the 14th minute after a quality assist from Jay Gibbs.

Four minutes later it was 4 when Reynolds once again popped up to finish well after a good ball in from Asa Thomas.

it could have been more by half time, but the Beachboys missed a few decent chances.

Half time came and the team talk for the home side rallied them as Penrhydeudraeth came out a different proposition.

They had a couple of half chances early on, one was saved by Paul Pritchard in goal, a second was just offside and a third hit the side netting.

It was now a more open game with both sides guilty of sloppy play at times.

Bay created a number of chances but without reward, Asa Thomas going close a few times and on another day would have had a second half hat-trick.

Division One

CPD Boded 2 Bontnewydd 2

It was a ‘Case-y’ of late drama at Cae Ty Cristion as Boded fought back from two down and became the first team to take a point off leaders Bontnewydd this season.

Bont, who entered the game on the back of six straight wins, took a 40th minute lead through Shaun Roberts and the same player made it two with 67 on the clock.

However, second-place Boded were far from finished.

Casey Boylan made it 2-1 with 96 minutes gone and Casey Gregg levelled after 98 to snatch a draw.

CPD Cefni 2 Caergybi 3

Louis Chapman struck at the double as Caergybi claimed all three points at Isgraig.

Andy Williams handed Cefni a second-minute lead, but Chapman hit back on three and 19, both via James Ryan assists, before Dion Jones levelled after 22.

Owain Griffiths’ goal a minute into the second half, laid on by Nik Kontodios, turned out to be the winner.

CPD Mountain Rangers 1 Llangoed and District 2

Mark Williams gave hosts Mountain Rangers a ninth-minute lead, but Charlie McKenna equalised on 25 and Jay Finter provided the decider after 38.

Llangoed were reduced to 10 men late on, but it did not affect the end outcome at Cae Gors.
