NORTH WALES CRICKET LEAGUE REPORTS FROM FINAL WEEKEND OF 2023 SEASON
PREMIER DIVISION
Bangor (3) 59-10 Northop (12) 62-6
Title contenders Northop won their final game of the season, but the fact leaders St Asaph picked up 15 points at Menai Bridge to clinch the title made the result at Ty Newydd largely immaterial.
Hosts Bangor were put in and blasted out for just 59 in 33.1 overs, Andy Poynton taking a superb 3-5 off eight overs, Ben Beaver 3-10 from eight.
Northop stuttered to 27-6 in reply and a miracle win looked on for the hosts, but Beaver (29 not out) and Andrew Oates (14 no) made sure the visitors got home with no further wickets lost.
Franco Kasner took 4-20 for the home side.
Halkyn (14) 136-10 Mold (1) 44-10
Halkyn made sure they will stay in the Premier for at least another season after thrashing already relegated Mold at Pant Newydd.
Shamar Forde top-scored with 46 as the hosts were bowled out for 136 after being asked to bat, Lewis Pringle 4-28 and Isaac Allen 2-22 for the visitors.
Mold were then blown away for 44, Jamie Griffiths 4-14, Ben Roberts 2-3 and Nathan Roett 2-23.
Brymbo (13) 140-5 Mochdre (2) 139-10
Had they only enjoyed more luck with the weather Brymbo could so easily have won the title – they certainly had the talent to do just that.
The Steelmen rounded off their season, which also included a Welsh Cup semi-final berth, with a five-wicket victory over Mochdre.
The visitors were inserted and managed 139 all out, Alex Davies 41, for the home side Daniel Parry 5-43, Chris Taylor 2-21 and Joseph Norman 2-28.
Jason Underwood then cracked seven sixes in his 52-ball 65 not out as the hosts reached 140-5, Matthew Humphreys an accurate 2-15 off 10 for the away side.
Denbigh (15) 175-1 Llandudno (0) 174-10
Record nine-time Premier champions Llandudno were relegated after losing heavily to a Denbigh side which enjoyed a great season, finishing sixth on their top flight return.
Tudno won the toss and were all out for 174, Jack Rimmington 42 and Sam Rimmington 33, Harrison Jones taking 3-37 and Keiran Lucas 3-47 for the hosts.
Denbigh reached a winning 175-1 in just 27.4, overseas star Kieran Gilly hitting 91 not out and Harrison Jones 77 no, the skipper ending the season with 895 league runs.
Gresford (15) 195-9 Pontblyddyn (0) 78-10
Chris Ellwood hit 62 and Joe Benson 36 as Gresford set a winning score of 195-9 at Clappers Lane, Mark Neath 4-30 and James Hughes 2-30 for bottom side Pont.
The visitors were dismissed for 78, Simon Perry 3-14, Mikey Wright 2-10 and Daniel Williams 2-13 for the 15-0 winners.
Menai Bridge (0) 79-10 St Asaph (15) 212-5
As reported on Saturday, St Asaph are the 2023 Premier Division champions.
Saints won the toss at Tyn-y-Caeau, elected to bat, and amassed 212-5 off 50 overs.
Duncan Midgley produced the knock of the season, hitting 144 not out off 159 balls, including nine fours and seven sixes.
Menai were rolled over for just 79 in 27.4 overs in reply, Jack Gower the only double-figure scorer with 33.
Dan Evans produced fantastic figures of 5-8 off 7.4 overs, while Danny Ryan collected 4-18 from eight.
St Asaph won by 133 runs and 15-0 points, having needed only 13 to be certain of the title.

Grassroots North Wales reported on this division on Saturday.
Gwersyllt Park are champions, while Menai Bridge seconds, Llay Welfare and Marchwiel and Wrexham are relegated.
DIVISION TWO
Brymbo seconds are champions, Buckley 2nd XI, Hawarden Park 2nd XI and Mold 2nd XI are relegated.
Carmel and District (11) 123-8 Gresford 2nd XI (4) 102-10
Danny Owens led the scoring with 52 as Carmel rounded off their campaign with an 11-4 verdict at Pen-y-Gelli.
The home side posted 123-8. Harry Morris snared 3-13, Sam Burke 2-21 and Owain Walker 2-26 for the Colliers, who were then dismissed for 102.
James Griffin made 30, Owens 3-12 and Oliver Saynor 3-13 for the hosts.
Hawarden Park 2nd XI (14) 42-3 Buckley 2nd XI (1) 41-10
Tom Wilson snapped up 5-3 and Haseeb Hanif Bikya 2-7 as relegated Buckley seconds were all back in the pavilion for just 41.
Park made it t 42-3 in reply, but they also go down, Ravichandran Vinoj claiming 3-6 for Bucks.
Mold 2nd XI (0) 62-10 Bersham (15) 210-7
Maneesha Ayomal Nissanka (56), Suresh Lakmal Koswaththage (44) and Sameera-Sam- De Silva (36) all scored well as Bersham set 210-7 at Chester Road after calling the coin correctly and opting to bat.
Rhys Hughes Jnr gathered 3-22 for relegated Mold, who were then sent packing for 62, Nilanka De Silva taking 4-11, Suresh Lakmal Koswaththage 2-6 and Sameera-Sam- De Silva 2-8 for the overwhelming winners.
Pontblyddyn 2nd XI (14) 100-2 Llanrwst (1) 96-10
Asked to take first knock, Llanrwst could only muster 96 all out, Johann Fourie (27) and skipper Aron Hughes (24) the chief contributors, while Osian Jones pocketed 3-5 for Pont seconds, Dylan Pearn 2-10.
The hosts responded with a winning 100-2 in 28.3, Dave Evans 37 not out, passing 600 league runs for the season, Nick Thomas 31 no. Points: 14-1.
