North Wales League Division One: Iroshan hits ton and takes five wickets for leaders, Auty bags 7-27 for Quay

DIVISION ONE

Gwersyllt Park (14) 201-5 Llay Welfare (1) 110-10

Captain Iroshan De Silva passed the 750 league runs mark for the season with a majestic century and took five wickets for leaders Gwersyllt Park.
De Silva finished 101 not out and claimed an amazing 5-6 as the table-topping Wrexham side saw off visitors Llay and now enjoy a 28-point lead at the summit.
Put into bat, Park posted 201-5 off their 45 allotted overs, Ethan McCarthy (29) and George Miles (28) making useful contributions, Jacob Roberts taking 4-41 for the opposition.
In reply, Llay were bowled out for 110, De Silva’s 5-6 coming off 6.1 overs, Neil Pearson picking up 3-12.
Abergele (3) 115-10 Menai Bridge 2nd XI (12) 157-10
Visitors Menai Bridge seconds claimed a 42-run victory at Pentre Mawr.
Abergele decided to field first, bowling out the Anglesey side for 157, opener Matt Bixby making 30.
Moinak Pyne scooped 4-47 for the hosts, Lewis Tolond 2-16 and Rana Das 2-29.
Pyne made 31 in Gele’s reply, but the home team could only muster 115 all out, David Owen starring with 4-17 for the islanders with Liam Stone gathering 2-14 and Tomos Rees Jones 2-36.
Buckley (12) 141-10 Northop 2nd XI (3) 97-10
Opener Joel Sampson shone brightest for Buckley with a match-winning 60 at Lane End over high-flyers Northop seconds.
Bucks called the coin correctly and opted to bat, Sampson leading the way in a score of 141 all out, Joe Griffiths 3-27, Ellis Williams 2-16 and Sion Ferguson 2-27 for the visitors.
Adam Shaw then bagged 3-16, Jack Gibson 2-12 and Lee Taylor 2-16 as the hosts removed Northop for just 97, the win edging Buckley out of the bottom two.
Conwy (14) 105-3 Bethesda (1) 102-10
Vaughan Williams and Graham Meredith both took four wickets for Conwy, who moved up to second after a fine win over Bethesda at Bodlondeb.
Pesda were put in and collapsed to 102 all out, Williams snaring 4-11, Meredith 4-19 and Calum Jones 2-18.
Conwy replied with 105-3 in 34.1 overs, Stuart Watkins 26 not out and Evan Williams 26, Craig Newey pocketing 2-19 for the visitors.
Hawarden Park (14) 197-7 Dolgellau (1) 110-10

Chris Geary’s unbeaten 75 for Hawarden proved a major difference in Saturday’s tussle at Moor Lane.
The home side set 197-7, Geary’s fine knock well supported by Oliver Tyndall (40) and Owen Skillander (30), Jack Williams with 2-28 for the visitors.
In response, Dolgellau were dismissed for 110, Tom Norris 4-10 and Michael Wootton 2-13.
Marchwiel and Wrexham (3) 64-10 Connah’s Quay (12) 98-10
After being bowled out for 98, Connah’s Quay may have feared the worst, but they ended up winning the game thanks to Mali Auty’s sensational 7-27.
Choosing to bat first, the Quay were bowled out in just 24 overs, opener James Du Toit hitting 32 and Darren Leach 20 not out, Matt Lawrenson poaching 3-26, Sam Shoemark 3-27 and Josh Williams 2-4 for the hosts.
Marchwiel and Wrexham were then skittled out for just 64, Auty with a senior career-best return, Lee Davies nabbing 2-10.
