ARDAL NORTH WEST: Leaders held by a determined and resilient Kinmel Bay

ARDAL NORTH WEST – SEPTEMBER 12, 2026
Kinmel Bay 0
Prestatyn Town 0
Kinmel Bay made a statement that they belong in Tier 3 when they held unbeaten overnight league leaders Prestatyn to a 0-0 draw at The Petplace Stadium.
Everything Bay had heard about Prestatyn Town was true. They are an outstanding side packed with quality players, and showed exactly why they are so highly regarded. However, every single Kinmel Bay player stood up to be counted and matched the opposition from the first whistle to the last.
The opening half was played at a relentless pace, with both teams going toe-to-toe in a feisty and fiercely competitive encounter.
Bay had a glorious opportunity to take the lead when a dangerous ball was played across goal, but Matty Rees was unable to apply the finishing touch.
Both sides continued searching for the breakthrough, but neither could find it as the teams went into the interval level at 0โ0.

The intensity showed no signs of dropping after the restart. Chances came at both ends, but goalkeepers Adam Reid and James Roberts stood firm, producing excellent performances to keep their respective clean sheets intact.
Debutant Antonio Jacovelli came agonisingly close to the dream start against his former club when his effort struck the post, but that proved to be the closest either side came to breaking the deadlock.
Kinmel Bay said after the game: “A point was a fair reflection of an excellent contest, but this performance showed that we belong at this level and can compete with the very best. Every player left everything on that pitch today, and the lads should be incredibly proud.
“We would like to thank Prestatyn Town for a fantastic game and wish them all the very best for the remainder of the season.
