Bay’s Pakistan international Usama Mir took advantage of a rare window in his busy schedule with Worcestershire to take seven wickets for his North Wales club in yesterday’s home draw with Orrell.
Right-arm leg spinner Mir, who notched 100 on his club debut in May, returned his best bowling in five matches for the Bay of 7-98 as the visitors set 207-9 declared after being inserted by the opposition.
In reply, the hosts finished on 144-6, Adam Campion 46, the points ending 6-6.
1ST XI SECOND DIVISION
Sunday
Parkfield Liscard (5) 104-10 Northop Hall (21) 224-4 dec
Ankur Malik led the charge with 97 not out as Northop Hall set a winning total of 224-4 declared off 54 overs at Pembertons Meadow.
Hall made the most of their decision to bat, opener Alex Smith adding 50.
Skipper Carwyn Johnson then scooped 6-61 and Liam Evans-Ford 4-32 as the hosts were rolled over for just 104, sealing a 21-5, 120-run victory for the visitors.
Saturday
Northop Hall (5) 170-10 Maghull (20) 174-5
The Hall lost by five wickets at home on Saturday, despite a commanding innings of 70 from all-rounder Ankur Malik.
Put into bat, the Flintshire side were all out for 170, Ben Slater (37) and Alex Smith (35) adding useful contributions.
The Liverpool visitors got home on 174-5 off just 26 overs, Liam Evans-Ford 3-37 and Malik 2-83.
Prestatyn (3) 120-10 Southport Trinity (20) 121-3
Rhys Jones provided the highpoint of Prestatyn’s day with 46 in his team’s vulnerable looking score of 120 not out.
Michael Roberti was chief destroyer for Trinity, bagging 7-41.
The away side cruised to 121-3 in 21.1 overs to seal a seven-wicket, 20-3 points success.
2ND XI PREMIER DIVISION
Rainford 2nd XI (25) 148-5 Colwyn Bay 2nd XI (5) 147-10
Matt Russell hit 52 and Shaun Davies 32 in Bay’s moderate effort of 147 all out at Rainford.
In response, the hosts reached a winning 148-5 to secure a five-wicket win, Shay Williams 4-46 for the visitors.
2ND XI FIRST DIVISION
Ainsdale 2nd XI (20) 88-4 Northop Hall 2nd XI (3) 87-10
A meagre effort of 87 all out off a painstaking 49.2 overs did not present Hall seconds with much hope of victory, Tommy Ellis (30) and Matteo Ellis-Ford (25) best for the visitors.
Ainsdale seconds reached the winning post at 88-4, Sion Hellen with 3-24 for the North Wales side.
