Carmel and District celebrated a morale-boosting double victory in the latest round of matches in the North Wales Women’s Cricket League East on Sunday (June 11).

Carmel (16) 104-3 – net score 289 Northop (3) 71-4 – net score 251
Carmel won by 38 runs
Hâf Morgan-Read top-scored with 31, while Carol Owen and Claire Millington both made 11 as Carmel concocted a winning effort of 104-3 off 16 overs after being asked to bat.
Rhiannon Jones picked up 3-20 for Northop, whose reply ended on 71-4, Kaye Jones hitting 15, while for Carmel, Beth Thomas scooped 2-4 and Katie Roberts 2-6.
Gwersyllt Park (6) 134-4 – net score 314 Buckley (17) 157-2 – net score 347
Buckley won by 33 runs
Gwersyllt batted well to post 134-4 off 16 overs, Fiona Tapp leading the scoring with 16, skipper Bethan Jones 15, Libby Yakas 14, Anna Griffiths 13 and Michelle Barnes 12.
Buckley replied with a winning 157-2 from their 16, extras amounting to 50, Sarah Sprowell making 15 and Erin Boyd 12.
Halkyn (3) 93-5 – net score 268 Northop (15) 95-1 – net score 290
Northop won by 22 runs
Halkyn were invited to bat and chalked up 93-5 from 16 overs, Heather Astley the best contributor with 26 (twice out – net 16) and Emily Hart adding 14.
Lily Denby snapped up 2-22 for Northop, who in response hit a winning 95-1, Alyson Oates 17, captain Jane Williams 16, Kaye Jones 17 (net 12) and Lynsey McLoughlin 12.
Carmel (15) 125-4 – net score 305 Halkyn (6) 102-1 – net score 297
Carmel won by 8 runs

Hâf Morgan-Read was star of the show again with 43 runs as Carmel won a close contest after being inserted by the opposition.
The Pen-y-Gelli team compiled 125-4 off 16, Read scoring 48 for once out (net 43), Charlotte Taylor 19 and Claire Millington 16, Heather Astley taking 2-16 for Halkyn.
In reply, Halkyn made a commendable 102-1, Astley 19, Emily Hart 17 and Jennifer Davies 12 with 30 extras added to the total.

Gwersyllt Park won by 30 runs
Great batting from Gwersyllt saw them to 149-2 off 16 overs.
Libby Yakes hit 22 (net 17), skipper Bethan Jones and Fiona Tapp 16 each, Anna Griffiths and Eleanor Doherty 10 apiece.
Northop Hall could only manage 124-3, Sarah Armstrong 18 and Emma Jones 16.

Llandudno Fire (6) 100-4 – net score 280 Bethesda (17) 133-4 – net score 313
Bethesda won by 33 runs
West Division leaders Bethesda triumphed by 33 runs over Llandudno Fire a week last Sunday.
Pesda were put in and notched 133-4 off their allotted 16 overs, Ellie Creek 21, Bethan Briggs 18 (net 13).
Llandudno’s fire was doused by the Bethesda attack as they were limited to 100-4.
Erin Marlor made 12 and captain Eleanor Hails 11.
