North Wales Cricket Premier – No 8 Calum Andrews hits vital 82 for Menai Bridge, wins for Northop and Brymbo

Brymbo (13) 165-4 Llandudno (2) 162-10
Christopher Taylor was a star with bat and ball as Brymbo maintained their unbeaten start to the Premier Division campaign.
Taylor took 3-17 off 10 overs as Llandudno, put into bat, were bowled out for 162 in 45.3, Mohamed Nilam Jayman with 2-2, Gareth Boys 2-15 and Jack Williams 2-33.
Opener Sam Rimmington top-scored for the visitors with 51 off just 37 deliveries, including seven fours and a six.
South African Taylor then led the way with 53 as Brymbo reached 165-4 in 29.4 overs to seal a 13-2 points triumph.
William Norman (37 no) and Jake James (22 no) put on an unbroken 54 for the fifth wicket to see the hosts home. Tom Thornton took 2-37 for the visitors.
Denbigh (11) 219-9 Bangor (4) 199-9
Kieran Gilly’s top match score of 55 helped Denbigh set a winning total at home to Bangor on Saturday.
New signing Gilly’s half-century was the leading contribution as the hosts, who won the toss and batted, set 219-9 off 50 overs, Gerallt Lyall adding 38, Sam Lewis 34 and Andy Clarke 31 no.
Idrees Ijaz took 3-49, Franco Kasner 2-25, Michael Hughes 2-28 and Jonny Wells 2-33 for the visitors.
Kasner made 51, David Winter 43 before retiring and Ijaz 34 as the Citizens started well in response but faltered and ended 20 short on 199-9.
Harrison Jones picked up 4-43 for the home side, including the prized scalp of Kasner, Joe Lewis 2-47.
Halkyn (13) 117-10 Gresford (2) 49-10
Nathan Lavender returned magical figures of 6-17 as newcomers Halkyn, defending a low total, then blew away visitors Gresford for under 50 at Pant Newydd.
The Wrexham-area side inserted the hosts, who were all back in the pavilion for just 117, Nathan Roett by far the best performer with the bat, making 45.
Simon Perry bagged 3-27 and Daniel Williams 2-23 for the Colliers.
In reply, Gresford were sent packing for a paltry 49 in 21.2, Lavender’s 6-17 coming off nine, while Ben Roberts scooped 2-0.
Mochdre (3) 161-10 Menai Bridge (12) 209-8
Number eight bat Calum Andrews cracked a first-team best score of 82 not out which made a huge difference to Menai Bridge’s victory hopes at Swan Road.
Asked to bat first, champions Bridge slumped to 15-3 before Will Blair (44) and Robbie Jones (26) put on 68 for the fourth wicket.
Menai lost three wickets for a single run to nosedive to 84-6 before Andrews joined skipper Gethin Roberts in the middle.
Roberts and Andrews concocted a stand of 107 before the skipper was run out for 31.
Andrews remained to be 82 not out before the innings closed at 209-8 off 50, his knock coming off 83 balls and including four fours and three sixes.
Matthew Humphreys claimed 2-32 and Joe Chaplin 2-35 for the home team.
Humphreys hit 45 and Thomas Opie 29, but Mochdre were never really a danger to the away score, finishing 161 all out, Gerallt Roberts 2-12 and Blair 2-29 for the islanders.

Skipper Thomas Hughes and Ben Beaver both struck 84 as Northop built a total to earn a maximum points victory which put them top of the Premier.
Losing the toss, Northop were invited to bat and made the most of it, rattling up 236-4 from 50, opener James Roberts adding 33 and sharing in an opening stand of 94 with Hughes.
Mold were dismissed for 134, despite a battling 59 not out from Richard Deniz, Ashraf Nawab with 3-8 off 10 for the visitors, Mark Poynton 3-34.
Pontblyddyn (1) 84-10 St Asaph (14) 160-8
Ajaypal Singh and Jack Griffiths snapped up four wickets apiece as St Asaph bowled out Pontblyddyn cheaply to finish well on top at Alder Meadow.
Saints were put in and set a modest 160-8 off 50, skipper William Ryan 39 not out and Nathanael Scott 38, Jonathan Byrd 2-28 and Ryan Dunning 2-32 for the hosts.
Singh pocketed 4-16 off 10 and Griffiths 4-20 from the same number of overs, while Danny Ryan took 2-5, Pont collapsing to 84 all out with only Rocco Franco (36) producing any real resistance.
