LATEST TABLE (APR 15): http://www.allwalessport.co.uk

Rhostyllen 6 Llay Welfare 6

What a game! If you score six goals at home or six away, you’d expect to be the winner. Not the case in this 12-goal classic.

Rhostyllen led 4-1 at half time against 10-man Llay, but the visitors fought back to 4-3 down, trailed 5-3 and then astonishingly went 6-5 up only for the hosts to force an equaliser five minutes over the 90.

Tomos Williams gave Rhostyllen a fifth-minute lead, Jon Collo levelled almost instantly, but Tom Douglas put the hosts back in front. Douglas added a penalty before Welfare keeper Kyle Flower was sent off with 22 on the clock.

David Browning made it 4-1 on 33 and that is how it remained up to the interval.

Often, a first-half packed with goals can lead to a non-event in the second – but this was no ordinary match.

Collo and Owen Roberts replied for Llay to make it 4-3 after 62 minutes.

Cavan Daley put Rhostyllen 5-3 ahead on 79 and the home team must have been expecting a third straight win.

However, a Will Nevitt double on 82 and 85 made it all-square, then Tom Wells’ 88th minute effort looked to have won it for Llay.

Just like in all the best movies, though, there was one last twist as Daley set up Douglas for his hat-trick in the 95th minute of play and it ended six-apiece.

Bangor 1876 went top of the Ardal North West after an important and hard-earned win against a resolute Llandudno Albion side.

The visitors started strongly and took an 18th minute lead.

Liam Morris broke down the left and played the ball across the goal where midfielder Dylan Williams netted from close range.

Albion also had their opportunities to break forward and Adam Hold shot over from just outside the box after a swift counter attack.

HALF-TIME: 0-1

Bangor 1876 pressed in the early minutes of the second half and Tom Clarke had a chance but sent his shot over the bar.

Moments later, Corrig McGonigle’s attempt was saved by Albion goalkeeper Ashley Lavender.

It took a sharp stop from Lavender to repel Jamie Petrie’s powerful shot before the keeper saved well at the feet of McGonigle.

Despite the succession of Bangor chances, Albion almost equalised on 65 when Lee Stokes went clean through on goal and Carl Jones pulled off an excellent save.

Bangor had a scare after the ball was lobbed over Carl Jones after he punched away a long throw-in. However, Kian Owen got back just in time to clear the ball off the line.

With just over 15 minutes left, 1876 sealed it when they broke upfield, McGonigle cut the ball back to the edge of the area and Morris scored with a powerful low shot.

Albion continued to press. Stokes fired over the bar and Jordan Kane was inches away but his curled free-kick went just wide of the post.

The away side finished powerfully but could not add to their total.

Brickfield Rangers 1 Nantlle Vale 2

All the goals arrived in the first half at Clywedog Park.

Alwyn Roberts handed the Penygroes men the lead on four minutes, Andy Vale levelled from the spot after 31, but Sion Jones restored the away advantage with 40 on the clock.

A red card was shown to Nantlle’s Alwyn Roberts on 53, but the travellers stayed ahead and a frustrated Rangers were reduced to 10 with a minute of normal time left when Ellis Hickey received a straight red.

CPD Y Rhyl 1879 0 Denbigh Town 4

A stunning win for Denbigh at Belle Vue made them very strong title contenders.

Jason Foulkes netted in the first half, then Craig Pritchard, Paul Fleming and Jacob Walker struck after the break. This match was covered in depth by Grassroots North Wales on Saturday.

Saltney Town 0 Llanrwst United 2

Sam Thomas scored after six and 66 minutes to secure Llanrwst the points at the Dragon Steel Stadium.

Y Felinheli 0 Hawarden Rangers 0

No-score draw at Cae Seilo.

Ardal North East visitors Bow Street will take on Denbigh Town in the final after overcoming Cefni on penalties in Saturday’s hard-fought tie at Cae Bob Parry.

After a goalless first half, Matty Jones nudged the hosts ahead in the 51st minute.

Just a minute later, Ben Davies brought Bow back on terms.

Jones’ 21st goal of the season after 78 restored the islanders’ advantage, but in the 90th minute the visitors were awarded a spot-kick which Davies dispatched.

So it went to penalties and Bow Street prevailed 5-3.
