CHAMPIONS! CPD Dinas Bangor City 1876 secure Ardal North West title with 3 games to spare

ARDAL NORTH WEST – APRIL 11, 2026

NFA 0
CPD Dinas Bangor City 1876 1 (Clarke 68)

In a season where league goals have flowed from them at the rate of more than four-per-game, just one was enough to clinch Bangor City 1876 the 2025-26 Ardal North West title today.

Conditions at Ffordd Derwen in Rhyl, where home side NFA have so often proved teak tough to beat, were extremely testing, but the Citizens battled their way to the victory they required to be crowned champions.

Skipper Tom Clarke’s 68th minute header was sufficient to bank an eighth straight league win for 1876 since they lost for the only time this season in the ANW away at Llannefydd in February.

Both goalkeepers were excellent on the day – NFA’s Ryan Roberts and Carl Jones of Dinas Bangor.

Defences also performed extremely well in the strong wind and rain to ensure only one goal was scored.

Bangor now need just one more goal from their remaining three matches to set a new record for the most scored in a season in either Ardal North East or North West.

With the league title in the bag, the Citizens now have a treble in sight, with the FAW Amateur Trophy and Ardal North League Cup both on their radar.
