One of the finest wins in Mochdre Sports’ history saw them knock tier 3 title hopefuls Llanfair out of the FAW Trophy.
The hosts from the tier 4 North Wales Coast East Premier took the lead on 35 minutes when the visitors made a hash of a clearance, presenting the ball to an unmarked Harvey Holmes, who drilled home right-footed.
Four minutes later Llanfair were level when a cross from the left was finished off by Nyasha Mwamuka.
In the 45th minute the North Wales team were back in front when a cross from deep on the left saw Holmes beat keeper Jake Brown to the ball and score with a diving header.
The scores were tied again in added time when Jake Mann headed in a cross from the right.
No goals in the second half so it was down to penalties.
Gareth Jones, Jack Jeffers, Kai Davies and Niall Owen, with the decider, clinched a 4-2 shoot-out verdict for Mochdre, Nic Bould in the home goal having gone to his right to save one, while the visitors hit the crossbar with another.
