Chirk’s cricketers bounce back with fantastic win to lead Division One by 15 points

Bridgnorth 2nd XI (7) 223-8 Chirk 1st XI (20) 247-7
Fifteen points clear at the top with five rounds of matches to play – Chirk remain bang on course for the Division One title.
The North Wales side bounced back from their crushing defeat at Shrewsbury 2nd XI with a magnificent win at high-flyers Bridgnorth seven days later.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, Chirk posted 247-7 off 40 overs, Nick Flack topping the chart with 62 not out off 47 balls, hitting five fours and three sixes.
Liam Walker (60) and Ollie Gough (36) provided an ideal start by putting on 86 for the first wicket.
Flack and George Collins (20 not out) put on an unbroken 52 for the eighth wicket.
Bridgnorth were limited to 223-8 in reply, Jonathan Phillips notching 3-36 and Mark Shaw 2-46 for the hosts.
DIVISION SIX
Chirk 2nd XI (4) 128-9 Willey 2nd XI (20) 297-5
Now 62 points adrift at the bottom, Chirk seconds were well beaten at Holyhead Road.
Stuart Sheperd stood out for the visitors with an unbeaten 125 in a total of 297-5 from 40 overs, Stephen Conner 2-30 and Chris Hughes 2-31 for the hosts.
Chirk were restricted to 128-9 in response, Dan Conde 38, Rob Williams 26.
