1ST XI FIRST DIVISION

Paul Jenkins reached a magnificent 50 league wickets for the season as victorious Colwyn Bay edged into second place in the First Division.
Left-arm spinner Jenkins, who passed 1,000 victims in the Liverpool Competition last year, matched his current age in league wickets for 2022 by taking 4-58 in Saturday’s triumph at Spring View.
Bay were put into bat at Dower House Farm and chalked up 204-6 declared off 41.1 overs, Will Evans top-scoring with 60, wicket-keeper Luke Russell adding 48 not out, Jack Parry 47 and Arthur Jones 36.
Spring View were all back in the hutch for 135, Jenkins’ haul coming off 17 overs, Ryan Holtby bagging a miserly 2-8 off nine and Jagjit Sandhu 2-17 from 13.1.
Fleetwood Hesketh (5) 127 Northop Hall (6) 113-8
Dhanosh Kaludewa collected 6-48 for a Northop Hall side which had to settle for a winning draw.
The Sri Lankan produced the best return for the visitors, Carwyn Johnson picking up 2-45.
Hall were 113-8 when the overs ran out, Kaludewa highest contributor with 28, Stephen Gregory 5-51 for the hosts.
1ST XI SECOND DIVISION
Maghull (9) 193-10 Prestatyn (24) 198-10
Without a doubt Prestatyn’s best result of the season as they turned over the leaders Maghull on their own Liverpool turf.
Put into bat, the Welsh visitors were dismissed for 198, Gareth Leonard 64 and Sheil Sethi 45, Munowar Samsodien 6-71 for the hosts.
Maghull slumped to 27-3 and 112-6 in reply, but from 157-9 the last pair put on 36 and looked set to snatch victory only for Adam Tidswell to have No 11 Liam Gibbons caught by Andy Taylor for 10 and win the match.
All out for 193 and a famous success for Prestatyn, whose bowling heroes were Benjamin Hughes 3-17, Kieron Tidswell 2-24, Adam Tidswell 2-42 and Sampath Perera 2-56.
2ND XI PREMIER DIVISION
Colwyn Bay (25) 221-4 Southport and Birkdale (5) 130-10
Matt Russell led the way for winners Bay seconds with 58 not out at Penrhyn Avenue.
The hosts set a formidable 221-4 off 42.2 overs, skipper Tom Roberts 39 no, Sam Bright 37 and Shaun Davies 33 adding to Russell’s fifty.
Russell and Roberts put on an unbroken 91 for the fifth wicket.
James Jones then snared 5-52, Bright 2-20 and Davies 2-26 as Southport and Birkdale, whose team included Rocky Flintoff, son of former England skipper Andrew, were bowled out for 130. Rocky was dismissed for a duck by Matt Russell.
2ND XI FIRST DIVISION
Northop Hall (7) 138-10 Fleetwood Hesketh (24) 170-8
Liam Evans-Ford took 4-38 as Hall limited the visitors to 170-8, but in reply the hosts were sent packing for just 138, David Oultram 43.
2ND XI SECOND DIVISION
Prestatyn (4) 124-10 Maghull (25) 203-4 dec
Chasing 204 for victory, Prestatyn seconds were all out for 124.
