North Wales Women’s Cricket League – double success for Bethesda, but Llandudno stay top

Bethesda (20) 90-3 (net score 275) Llandudno (5) 71-5 (net score 246)
Result: Bethesda won by 29 runs

League leaders Llandudno were put into bat and scored 71 runs for five wickets lost, making a net score of 246.

Hannah Thornton led the way with a net 12, Erin Deering and Olwen Kelly made 6, Charlotte McKinley 11 for once out (net 6) and Clare Freeman 10 for once out (net 5).

For Pesda, Ellie Creek took 2-11, Megan Hughes 1-3 and Poppy Smith 1-5.

Bethesda replied with 90 for 3, net 275.

Captain Hannah Jones struck 14, Millie Forte 13 and Poppy Smith 12.

Clare Freeman, Jane Whittaker and Charlotte McKinley took a wicket apiece for Tudno.

Result: Bethesda won by 80 runs

A good batting performance from Bethesda, who were put in by the opposition, saw them amass 132-6 off 16 overs for a net score of 302.

Skipper Hannah Jones hit 21 for once out (net 16), Poppy Smith 18 for once out (13), Natalie Owen 10 net and Ellie Creek 13 for once out (net 8).

Lily Denby took 2-25 for Northop, Mia Daniels, Ann Roberts and Nicola Daniels a wicket each.

Northop’s reply was limited to 42-4, net 222, meaning Pesda won by 80 runs.

Poppy Smith grabbed 2-0 and Emma Jones 1-4.

Result: Llandudno won by 67 runs

Eleanor Halls made the day’s highest net score of 18 as Llandudno secured the win which keeps them top of the table.

Brittany Loughborough notched 17 and Charlotte McKinley took two wickets for Tudno.

Jane Williams top-scored for Northop with 11.
